Some on the left continue to fervently insist that Rasmussen's polls are biased in favor of the Republican candidate. It is a charge that strikes me as downright absurd. The Senate race in Missouri is an excellent case in point. The (unabashedly) pro-Democratic polling group, Public Policy Polling, has Claire McCaskill (D) up by just one percentage point, over her opponent, Todd Akin (R); the latter of whom stuck his foot in his mouth recently, with his silly words about "legitimate rape." However, Rasmussen has McCaskill up by all of 10 percentage points; which is a wider margin for the Democrat than in any of the other polls shown in RealClearPolitics. Here is the link: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/senate/mo/missouri_senate_akin_vs_mccaskill-2079.html
Polls are notoriously wrong. Reagan was behind in polls by 7% pts all the way up to the election against Jimmy Carter. Reagan won by 10% pts.
The Republican Party wants to DESTROY Todd Akin...and make sure he doesn't win and the idea of "legitimate rape" gets tied to their Party by Akin winning the MO Senate seat. Don't you remember....all of the GOP and Romney demanding Akin quit? So....Rasmussen IS doing what the Republican Party wants. By coming up with polls favorable to McCaskill...isn't he?
.... Or that simply reflects that Republicans nominated the wrong candidate, and now we wish we would've gone with Sarah Steelman.
As an Independent...admitting that I'm liberal in some things...are you trying to say that Obama is Carter or that Romney is Reagan? From what I've seen lately in this election...subject to future change of course...it's more like Obama is Reagan and Romney is Carter. If that's how it plays out...Romney is way behind. Even more than the polls show.
Don't follow the polls. Instead "follow the money" : https://www.intrade.com/v4/markets/contract/?contractId=745948
