Word is the NFL claims they did NOT see the entire video, until today. Why should that have made any difference? He dragged her limp body out of the elevator. Did they think she fainted? From day one, everyone knew he decked her. Made little sense to me. He belongs in a cage with other animals.

Ok, I also heard this morning that the NFL says it didn't see this new video until yesterday. Earlier reports I heard, may have been wrong.

I hope so... but yeah, like you said, wasn't pushing her with his feet, and dragging and dropping her... along with an admission of guilt via press conference, enough for more than 2 games ?!

    Hmm.....

    http://www.tmz.com/

The NFL NEVER contacted the casino to request video of Ray Rice brutalizing his fiancee ... TMZ Sports has learned. Commissioner Rodger Goodell made his disciplinary decision in the dark, which raises the question ... Is that the way he wanted it?

Sources connected with the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City tell TMZ Sports ... NO ONE from the NFL ever asked for the video inside the elevator ... video that was compelling enough to get Rice instantly fired.

Sources who worked at the casino at the time of the incident tell us ... if the NFL had asked for the video, they would have gladly complied.

Without video ... Goodell blindly justified the initial 2-game suspension, based on the only evidence they had -- from the two people in the elevator, who called it mutual combat.

Multiple sources tell TMZ Sports ... the casino made a copy of the elevator surveillance video for police. We're also told Rice's lawyer had a copy of the video, which he got in the criminal case.

An NFL source tells us they requested "any and all information" from law enforcement in the criminal case but got nothing because it was a pending case. But the NFL had other options ... namely going to the casino or Rice's lawyer -- but the NFL never bothered to ask.

The NFL did what they always do... try to cover their ass. It will be interesting to see if any of this sticks to them, but I doubt it. As far as Rice and his main squeeze.... sounds like they deserve each other. But in any case.. there is NEVER a reason to punch a women. He belongs in jail.

I find it difficult to believe that.

Just because she was passed out when he took her out of the elevator doesn't mean one can just ASSUME she was punched in the jaw. She could have been passed out for being drunk , high, stoned or whatever.
But, BTW, what is the NFL supposed to do? Are they the police? Are they supposed to judge, jury and executioner for every accusation? And so he played a couple of games . So what? Due process takes time. Him playing or being suspended or whatever doesn't somehow undo his actions. He has been fired. So, he got his just desserts which is what I assume everyone wants so what is the problem? As for "blaming" the NFL, if we are going to play the blame game, then BLAME the person who did this which was Rice. It isn 't the job of the NFL to police the lives of all the players. Criminal matters should be handled by the police and then if they are found to be criminal, then yes, they can step in then.

May 23 Rice held a press conference apologizing for the domestic abuse incident.
July 24 Rice is given a 2-game suspension by the NFL.

The evidence shows the NFL never asked for elevator security video.

You ask what the NFL is "supposed to do".... they are supposed to fully investigate, and not defend their actions, when people are upset over a measly 2 day suspension.... especially when they clearly have not observed all evidence that they had to have known was available.

They didn't want to see the video.... they wanted it over, and wanted this star player in action.

You say "Blame the person who did this".... I don't think there is anyone who doesn't. But that's not the topic of the thread.

The NFL is in a rules implosion mode.
