Other than being a comedy shorts series involving Halo game play footage with voice-overs, it seems that this idea has taken hold in terms of 'pop politics'. It's not any longer about making America better for ourselves and the generations after us...it's more like Monday Night Football. It's not about policy it's about 'my team will win' or 'we're going to make that guy pay'. Look at thread titles on these forums, headlines in newspapers, talking points on television. It's like this ridiculous, glacial-speed chess game now. If you were keeping score this season, neither side has made a touchdown in the fact that our congress has done less than the congress known as the 'Do Nothing Congress'.

Is it any wonder that both 'sides' are fed up with the other? I also make a prediction for this thread: Instead of talking about this topic, it will go straight to 'that guy should've been flagged for offsides on that play' finger pointing anger you see from angry drunks in the afternoon watching their team penalized.

Personally, I'm sick of it. Does anyone actually stand for anything? Can anyone these days say what they're for and admit the fact some of their stances on things bleed into both party platforms? Or is it just going to be Red vs. Blue for eternity until every other country makes an example of how to move forward, make real policies that strengthen the nation and it's people while promoting peace throughout the world and laughing at poor old America still stuck in the 1900's?

I look to you, my fellow peers, citizens of this country to step outside yourself for a second and wonder what it is you are really FOR. You know what you're against, but what does that actually mean? And why is compromise such a dirty word today?
