Capitalism is really Communism, and all Americans are entitled to every fruit of the labor of private enterprise. Private property is theft...

    Hysterical post.
You just said a few posts ago you want China to come in and regulate a social media.

A foreign f'n gov't is your answer. A communist gov't none the less. Talk about wanting Totalitarianism.

    My post was
Anyone who makes jokes offensive to the Left on an American campus in 2020 will be fired and blacklisted. Many people in USSR joked about Brezhnev -- very few were punished.

And they want the gov't to regulate a private business that uses ads to make money. They want to end capitalism I guess.

Talk about being for communism, using the gov't to halt free speech.

    And your proof?
You are the poster who wants the Chinese gov't to come in and regulate some social media.

Instead of for profit companies. Companies in business to make money, have to cater to their advertisers.

Just like faux tv does and talk radio. RW has their platforms.

They have QANON and Parler. One can always frequent their websites if not happy with others.

Clarification: I hope China can set up Social Media to compete with Google, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, Twitter. Not to control them -- which is impossible. I apologize for not making my thoughts clear.

Still, you want a foreign gov't to come in and set up social media platform.

    Why?
You have your QANON and Parlor. Go frequent them.

Those companies you cited all are for profit businesses. They typically cater to those who give them money. Capitalism.
FB is under fire and advertisers are boycotting FB because they won't put hate posts to their liking.
So we'll see who wins that one.

Telegram Messenger is the best -- set up in 2013 by the brothers Nikolai and Pavel Durov. Hopefully they can be a beacon of Freedom in Totalitarian West.

Once upon a time, we listened to Radio Svoboda. Now Russian and Chinese Social Media may offer Freedom to Totalitarian Western World.

What Reddit did is NOT "censorship".

    ^And Everybody KNOWS that.

People are free to exercise their "free speech" at thousands of other places.

And, obviously, if they are incapable of following Reddit's TOS, then they are free to move along.

Anyone who has read the 1st Amendment actually knows what you say is correct.

However, what these people want to do is to force others to publish speech that they disagree with. What they want to do is the government to force social media companies to equalize content from "both sides". They don't even realize the repercussions. It is akin to me demanding that government forces a Trump supporter to put a Biden campaign sign in their yard, because if they don't, they would suppress free speech of the Democrats. Ridiculous, isn't it?

I'm on Reddit still for video games and history stuff...

But I've noticed over the years its gone faaaaar left, real quick.

I was banned from the NBA sub for posting, in a long thread about how evil white people are, "show me on the doll where the white man touched you."

I thought it was funny. You can bash white people with impunity on there but I made one joke and got perma banned. Lol

Oh well, I've moved on to other sites now.

While we're on the topic, I used to browse China_Flu for months during Covid, but I stopped because a few days ago there was a thread on the protests and then a mod posted some random article stating how the protests had "not sped up the spread of Covid" and then locked the thread to prevent further discussion.

At that point, I was done with that sub as well.

It really is suppression of counter arguments (because they make too much sense).

    But, their site, their rules.

    What exceptionalism?

You owe your success to your isolated geographical location and foreign born entrepreneurs. Look at the names of your top R&D tech peoples. You'll be hard pressed to find a wasp sounding name.
American freedom is also an illusion. It's a pay to play scheme designed to pacify the masses into accepting the debauchery of the ruling elites. You send poor people to prison for years for a small rock of crack, but turn a blind eyes to the elites snorting table full of cocaine lines. You've been brainwashed to believe that words on an old piece of paper is enough to make you free.

Kind of like you did with your thread about how a million people signed up for trump’s poorly attended Tulsa rally. Yeah, sad.

Oh, but the LW advocates were "bad". Don't you see?

Now the government should censor people for trying to "censor" the government?

That's a new level of doubletalk, at least in the United States.

False, I've been warned by moderators to not get into a back and forth when there's name calling and such. They told me to instead report violations. So I left that thread when it got out of hand and started a new thread. I didn't take anything home. I'm trying not get suspended again.

Yes, it is censorship. I'm sure that if they were censoring YOUR ideas you'd be saying something to. But since its happening to those you disagree with its "not censorship", its getting rid of "hate speech" and is quite acceptable. Censorship: the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security. How is getting rid of speech that has political roots NOT censorship? Because a private entity did it instead of the government? If you think only the government can censor than you're naïve at best.

You support AA right? Affirmative Action? Why? Because denying service based on your dislike of a persons, race, religion, gender, etc etc is wrong right? And if even one place should discriminate even though there are dozens or even thousands of willing businesses down the street a person could go to it is wrong. Right? Funny how you don't apply the same thing to people that don't hold the same views as you. That have different ideas from you. That have speech that you don't like. If anyone supports affirmative action, and support social media platforms like Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube etc etc changing their TOS to get rid of "Hate speech" then you are a hypocrite.

And its awfully funny how the TOS changes to only affect those that are conservative huh? What was perfectly acceptable a year ago is suddenly not acceptable?

    Read the 1st Amendment again:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

It only talks about GOVERNMENT not interfering with free speech. Nowhere does it say that private people have to give other people a platform for the nutty things that they want to say. However, the latter is exactly what you are advocating.
