"Blind faith in bad leadership is not patriotism" - Hillary Clinton.

Nor is acting on that bad leadership treason.

Making a deal that can alter the balance of power in the world should have Congress authorization.

To the modern day Democrat, all a Republican needs to do in order to be accused of treason is say "I disagree".

I'd say the president has commited treason against the constitution in that he has tried to change immigration law on his own.
The Repubs are close to complicity in white genocide for not opposing his immigration amnesty.

"Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries."

"The Netherlands and Belgium are more crowded than Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them."

"Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to "assimilate," i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites."

"What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?"

"How long would it take anyone to realize I'm not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?"

"And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn't object to this?"

"But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews."

"They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-white."

    "Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white."

Why do you think that's treasonous? They're just telling the truth - that decision will be reversed once the White House changes occupants. That type of flip-over happens all the time in the world of politics.

Do you remember Obama saying that if he got elected, he would start bringing the troops home the first day. Was that a treasonous statement because he was promising to reverse a sitting President's war?

Think about it for a bit.

Wholesale MURDER in an 'illegally sanctioned' WAR, treason is the least of their worries.

Seeing the Dems have been wallowing in treason for decades, it's pretty obvious that Repulicans are only getting near it to the extent they're appeasing the Dems.

This is the second thread I've seen today referring to this as treason. I'm guessing Think Progress or Talking Points Memo put out a directive and the drones are following orders.

Once again, you have crystallized my thoughts eloquently. The funny thing is, none of them seems to know what 'treason' is, nor do they seem to realize that the president's actions are more borderline treason than the congress.

Here is the legal federal definition of treason:
Nothing they are doing resembles the definition of treason. They are not levying war againt the US. They are not adhering to the enemies of the U.S. (Israel is an ally). They are not giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the U.S. If anything, the argument could go that President Obama is committing treason, although, IMHO, while closer than the Republicans to committing treason, is still far, far away from committing treason. (I look forward to our liberal posters distorting that previous sentence) Not agreeing with the President, and opposing his actions is not treason.

They don't need to know what treason is. They're just following orders.

Yep! Don't deal with Obama, the deal might not last? That sounds pretty (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ominous to me (at several levels)...

Republicans warn Iran nuclear deal with Obama may not last

    BY PATRICIA ZENGERLE

White House says Republican senators trying to undermine Iran talks

(Reuters) - Republican U.S. senators warned Iran's leaders on Monday that any nuclear deal with President Barack Obama could last only as long as he remains in office, an unusual partisan intervention in foreign policy that could undermine delicate international talks with Tehran.

The open letter was signed by 47 senators, all but seven of the Republicans in the Senate, and none of Obama's fellow Democrats, who called it a "stunt." Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif dismissed it as a "propaganda ploy" from pressure groups he called afraid of diplomatic agreement.

In the letter, the senators said Congress plays a role in ratifying international agreements. Noting Obama will leave office in January 2017, they said any deal not approved by Congress would be merely "an executive agreement" that could be revoked by Congress.

The White House said the letter was a partisan effort to undermine Obama's foreign po

They went over Carter's head to deal with the Ayatollah when Reagan was running. Treason is nothing new to the Republican humps.

One definition of treason is knowingly and deliberately aiding and abetting an enemy of your country. With that in mind, there are two ways of looking at this issue and either way doesn't come anywhere near treason.

First, you can believe that the Iranians are not our enemy and Obama's appeasement efforts are towards a benign power and the appeasement is a legitimate foreign policy decision in order to get something in return in the future. If you believe Obama is working in good faith, then there is no enemy and therefore there is no treason.

The second way you can look at this problem is that Iran is an enemy. If that is the case, then we need to look at who exactly is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Is the appeasement of Iran and capitulating on sanctions going to aid and comfort the enemy or is Congress, which is pushing for stronger sanctions and making sure there are safeguards to keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of our enemy giving aid and comfort to the enemy? I think most reasonable individuals would believe that allowing your enemies to get their hands on weapons of mass destruction would be aiding the enemy.

So either way, Congress is not committing a treason, and if you believe Iran is our enemy, then you need to look carefully at the President's actions.

I don't know if what Repub Senators did would quality as 'treason', but from my POV, they look like nothing so much as a bunch of back stabbing s.o.b.'s, perfectly willing to jeopardize an agreement that will ice Iran's building a nuke bomb for ten years or more in order to score political points. If Iran were to walk away based on that letter, they would have killed the best chance of stabilizing a rather shaky part of the M.E. Things are bad enough over there already, without people wondering if Israel will be launching attacks, followed by the U.S.

    "Illegally sanctioned?"

Are you talking about the "use of force authorization" in Iraq that both Democrats and Republicans voted for????

I don't know about treason but it does seem t fit the legal definition of sedition which was pointed out in another thread.

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

Lol! Do you really think you have to ask that question? This a 100% without question treason against the U.S. and the president. They are setting foreign policy behind his back and that is not how it works. Of course, in the end, they will pay the ultimate price. The Right wants war at all costs, and they will do whatever it takes to make sure Obama is unsuccessful. Can you imagine if the Democrats had tried to stop Reagan from disarming Russia? This is unprecedented, and will come back to bite the Right in a big way.

I would argue that Congress has authority of the United States--Per article I of the Constitution, they have the authority to regulate commerce with foreign nations (the sanctions are about commerce) , . If they were private citizens, yes it would be sedition.
