Retired Evangelist Pat Robertson Says Putin Is Fulfilling Biblical Prophecy

This isn't the first time Robertson has predicted signs on the world's end. In 1976, he predicted the world would end in 1982. And in his 1990 book, The New Millennium, Robertson said the world would be destroyed on April 29, 2007, according to USA Today. None of those predictions were ever fulfilled.

Why does anybody believe any of those charlatans? It makes them feel good like they are one of God's "chosen" in the **true* church (and they all say that).

 

Date setters ought to stick together. Why is Robertson not a Jehovah's Witness?

 

Sadly when he is finally right, there won't be anyone around to remember it.

MJ: Doesn't your "holy book" say that your "Sky Daddy" is only going to select 144,000 for the "great reward"?
JW: Yes, it does.
MJ: So, why are you trying to recruit more people? Seems like you'd be better off trying to bump some of you out the running.


They didn't like that. Mission Accomplished!

 

He's not ever going to be right because his delusions are just voices in his head that he uses to con people out of their money and make them feel like he's their conduit to whatever Sky Daddy version he's selling.

 

I lost a friend to a (non religious/non political) cult.

I also have a very dear friend who has to support her mother because she keeps sending her money to Trump.

I also know someone else who sends all her discretionary spending to Pat Robertson, because he brings salvation. He's living larger than most can imagine, while others are living way below their means without ever experiencing life's joys.

All three types of brainwash style con are awful. They differ only in approach and hypocrisy.

When I was a kid, people would put ads in the classifieds, "Last chance to send $1, " with a PO box address. This is just a more professional version of that.

 

My simple solution to this -

Anyone who predicts the end of the world by a certain time has to off themselves if the date passes with no big boom.
Problem solved.

He (like all evangelicals) has never been right about "the end times" before, and he's getting on in years. So, nah, he's never going to be "finally right." I'd have some sympathy for his sad life if he hadn't scammed my grandmother out of a good chunk of her savings.

 

I hope we reach a day when religion stops being an effective scam device.

 

Putin thinks differently. He has his nukes armed and ready.

Probably because you were not welcoming. They don’t engage with people who are not welcoming as a policy.

The 144,000 are the anointed ones who go to heaven, the remaining people remain in paradise on earth where there is no more sickness or death yada yada. It’s a pretty basic tenet of how they interpret the bible.

It used to be that they said the generation that lived in 1914 would not pass away before the return of Jesus to earth but I’d say that generation is gone now. No doubt they have a new interpretation now.

What does he say the day after? Is it just a matter of getting the math wrong and he recalculates or is it just a lot of static in the conversation with God.

 

My former next door neighbor is a JW and just like all the "believers" of every religion I've ever encountered, she cherry-picked which "rules" she followed and which ones she didn't. Last I heard, she is still working like crazy to support her husband and five kids (2 are from previous marriage) and keeps getting pregnant because her current husband won't get a job, help with housework, yard work, shopping or school events until she births a boy.
