The Democrat party started the KKK and enslaved blacks for hundreds of years.

That word doesn't bring up negative thoughts like, say, the word Columbus?

    Weird.

If I said that about BLM you'd call me a racist.

    Go figure.

You are effectively making the argument that General Robert E Lee should keep the school's name because it is a piece of crap institution.

I will go out on a limb and say the name of the school has little to do with the achievements a school gets.

That is more on the money it receives and how it's put to use in getting quality education.

Ok, so why is it that the Republican party is fighting to continue to honor these folks?

We are talking about the word Democrat. You know, that political party that enslaved thousands and voted in racist laws and committed racist atrocities. The party that RAN on those platforms of diversity and segregation for hundreds of years.

Does that word not offend you? It doesn't invoke memories like, say, the name Robert E Lee does?

John Lewis never met an abortion funding bill he didn't like. John Lewis was staunchly anti gay his entire life. Has the district just traded one monster for another?

You couldn't substantiate your biased characterization if you wanted to. That is why you never do. Frankly if it hadn't been for Republicans, democrats would still have slavery. And it isn't like they don't try to have it today. Isn't that exactly the reason for illegal immigration into this country? Isn't that exactly why democrats want people befuddled using illegal drugs? Isn't that why the demand so much in taxes? None of what democrats stand for today is much different when they were happy running their plantations. They actively work towards the return to the plantation today. And yet, here you are, still defending them.

Good god that isn't what was said. I swear you blatantly twist posts more than anybody else on here.

Saying he should have a good school named after him is NOT IN ANY WAY saying the other school should keep its name.

Saying we shouldn't destroy property or ignore/erase/alter history is not 'fighting to continue to honor these folks'. If you actually had an argument you wouldn't need to fabricate a fake narrative just to make an argument.

Did those same Republicans see black folks as their equals? Let's see if you can be honest.

Who would you say illegal immigrants usually work for, Democrats or Republicans?
Are you saying that Republicans don't use drugs ?

So please explain how Republicans view are different today.
I don't recall defending them, I am just asking the question why is it that Republicans today all fighting to keep the names, monuments and statues of those racist Democrats.

How is that altering or erasing history? You don't have to have statues and Monument of races men in order to have history. You try to throw off on Democrats it being the party of slavery, Jim Crow, racism and discrimination. Even though you are the ones that fight to keep them in honor.

Just the name change itself isn't altering or erasing history, but that is the direction the left has pushed overall.

And once again, your argument is worthless when you have to lie to make a point. Nobody on the right is fighting to keep honoring these people. Saying 'don't destroy ****' isn't the same as what you're saying.

Start being truthful or stop responding. You play these games with virtually every single post you make and you aren't wasting my time with it.....honesty or nothing.

LOL.. Yes. I see all folks as my legal equals under the law. Period. No additional discussion required. I'd say illegal immigrants work for democrats, across the board. I'd say that felons, ex felons of the drug trade actively support democrats. Illegal immigrants work for other democrats. Drug use is illegal. I support enforcing the law, even against republican users. And yes, you defend the same democrats who would use John Lewis as a name for a school who actively supported the genocide of his own race and hated gays his entire life. You'd support that guy. I suppose because you value his moral courage to commit said genocide, and continued hate against those folks he felt were unnatural and didn't deserve the same rights that you enjoy.

It's way more than just the Mustang. If you're ever in Las Vegas, I recommend the Shellby Museum. When I was a kid, we had a 427 Shellby Ford in a speedboat. Fun! And really LOUD!

I agree, Lewis should have many things named after him, especially the infamous Edmund Pettus bridge.

    FACTS
A GreatSchools summary rating of 3 is a politically correct way of saying your school sucks and your students are illiterate.

More 'smoke and mirrors' politics at play. Name the school whatever they want if the education there sucks it doesn't matter.

No, I’m making the argument that placing the name of Congressman/Civil Rights activist John Lewis on a long running failed school is a disservice to a great man.

Maybe they are not so easily offended! I do understand the other party's desire to cover up their dark past. My cat does the same thing!

I agree with the name of the school having nothing to do with student learning, but funding doesn’t either. The Baltimore school district is the 3rd highest funded district in the country and
