dude, seriously, you need to stop making irrelevant points. I did not address logistics of production increases because it’s irrelevant to my point. Am I being unclear and confusing you to what I’m saying? I’m not sure I can dumb it down further so maybe you’ll just have to chalk this up as a loss and move along.

You said to increase production capacity. I am saying that could TAKE YEARS. THAT IS REALITY. Meanwhile, our war stocks are disappearing into deep hole in Ukraine , weaking our ability to counter threats from China. You just want to wave a magic wand and replace all the weaponry. I'm telling you that is IMPOSSIBLE.

Take their response with a grain of salt... considering he is stating Ukraine is kicking Russia's ass, yet, have lost much of the gains they had over the summer with a military budget larger than any EU nation out there.

I never said how long it would take, only that it needs doing. Thus your point is irrelevant.

    1) increasing production capacity is a good thing

    2) Ukraine beating Russias ass for us saves American lives, reduced Russias stockpiles and makes a future war with them less likely.

The idea that you saying it takes years to increase production is irrelevant to these points. Sorry. And no I can’t dumb it down further so if you plan on giving me more minutia while not logically connecting any dots while putting strawman fallacy words in my mouth then go back to school, you need a refresher course on English comprehension

XI is loving it. We are depleting our war stocks, even dipping into our NATO POMCUS stocks. He's probably giddy knowing how every day we have les to oppose his invasion of Taiwan.

Looks like someone has no idea how to analyze war. Just looking at minor un-strategic territory changes is all you need. LOL.

do you even know what a Pyrrhic victory is? Go educate yourself instead shooting barbs from the closet

Will you stop with the "irrelevant" kiddy comments. We're talking about having enough weapons to stay active in Ukraine and still have enough to counter China's inevitable invasion of Taiwan. That isn't irrelevant, that's what the whole damn subject is all about. You seem to think "increasing production" is easy. Its not.
Have you ever been to the facility in Texas where F-16's are built/ Its a mile and a half long building. It takes over a year to get all the raw materials and long lead component together. Then they go in one end an a year and a half later an F-16 comes out the other end. That's almost THREE YEARS. Javelins and Stingers take a long time too. So if we use up so much in Ukraine, it might take us YEARS to be ready for the invasion of Taiwan.

A Pyrric victory may be just what we are facing. Win the war in Ukraine just to lose the more important conflict against China. If you care to have a discussion analyzin war... let's go. I am a West Point graduate and have Commanded troops in the US and Germany. I served two years in Iraq along the way. Then I went into the defense industry as a civilian for decades. Let me know what you need to know.

What do you think a war with China would look like? Would it look like the one between Ukraine and Russia where ground troops are grinding it out (where?), or would it between Naval and air power where cruise missiles play a big part. I think you know the answer, because US is not sending 250 000 troops to China to fight against 2 million Chinese on the ground on Chinese territory.

As for F16, we have not sent any F16s to Ukraine.

Your inability to understand the amount of losses sustained by Ukraine, at the expense of US lust for war. Again, how many Ukrainian lives are you willing to sacrifice to satisfy your hate of Putin?

Nope, sorry, I understand you want to avoid the real war in Ukraine to prepare for an “inevitable” future and maybe and not inevitable war with China, and would rather Ukraine get wiped off the map and it’s people raped and murdered and enslaved in order to sit back and do absolutely nothing than be bothered to connect the dots that China and Russia are intrinsically linked and the failure of one in its conquests logically acts as a deterrent for the other to attempt the same.

Man, geopolitics is not your forte. Apparently neither is understanding the necessity to increase production capacity and the logistics of which have nothing to do with that necessity, indeed only increasing the need. The idea you don’t even want to increase capacity because it takes years so why start? It’s bizzarre.

What? I’m responsible for whether Ukraine gets invaded and I’m responsible for whether Ukraine decides to fight? LOL.

I can’t tell if republicans want to appease Putin or if they’re just that cowardly.

So I guess you want to save the world, huh. Billions for Ukraine... more billions for Sri Lanka... and Rhodesia... and on and on and on. I hope you can pay to save the entire world. America can't. I still see no link between Ukraine and American national security... except for your emotional outburst... which doesn't count.
You still don't understand that you can't just increase production with a wave of your magic wand. You seem unable (or unwilling) to understand that it is complex and TIME CONSUMING. All the "need" in the world cannot make it go faster. Do you think you can make a tree grow faster by increasing the NEED for it to do so? Or by throwing more money at it? Really?
I DO want to increase production capacity and you are not telling the truth when you say I don't. But this isn't the Land of Oz... realizing that increased capacity takes time... resources... planning... facilities and LOTS MORE.

    1) nowhere in what I’ve said indicates a lack of appreciation for what it takes to increase production—however, that said, the idea that our government will be starting from ground zero of even the planning stages of it? That’s a hell of an indictment you’re leveling on our military and governments lack of preparedness.

It’s the pinnacle of irony that you keep saying that I’m saying we have a magic wand yet your entire argument seems to be based on the need for a magic wand in order to accomplish anything. Bizzarre.

    2) you are wrongfully equating every war on earth to equal geopolitical importance (or lack thereof) to us. Therefore if I support Ukraine that must mean I support our involvement in any other war. Another strawman from you, you must have a lot of hay.

you admit you don’t understand how Russia conquering whatever it feels like is important to us but that is not my failing. That is yours. And if you can’t even understand war between China and Taiwan is much more likely if Russia wins and is militarily and economically intact, then you’re starting from ground zero.

Indeed the implications for future war and nuclear arms races across the globe are extremely significant in a Russian victory. It’s crazy to me that you can’t see them.
