I think we already know it's not a brochure produced by Massachusetts, but one taken from Mass web pages. Is there anything on there inaccurate?

Don't know, but if stuff "taken from Mass web pages" (assumption at this point) is presented out of context, then the brochure could become a problem.

If I tell you people can get into the Biltmore for free, and you go to the Biltmore and find out the freebie is only for current Military, is that ethical??

But here's the bigger question? Why produce a fake brochure in the first place? Hmmm....

We'll find out more soon enough.. my work here is done...

What is the context that's missing?

I wonder how many residents of MV asked the illegals which pronouns they prefer?

In the case of your first conclusion, it is you who is clueless: I have focused on this incident, in particular. I only brought in the comparison between the Trump, versus Biden, policies-- can you really not guess why?-- in response to claims by your Republican peers, in which they, ironically, point to Biden's policies as a validation for DeSantis's actions; which, according to the way you read that, above, would mean that they had wanted to bring up a "topic that really doesn't have much to do with this one," since, it was your implication, those doing this, did not have a good argument, on the merits of this story, alone. Weren't you, in fact, one of those, talking about Biden flying illegal immigrants to cities around the country, to be set free?

As to your final conclusion: since the only people, who get a charge out of the expression of well deserved contempt, by decent people, on the Left, over things like this incident, are those who are favorably disposed toward that type of inexcusable behavior, to begin with, I admit that I remain clueless, as to how this "gives" those unredeemable Righties, anything, other than a stupid, sub-human chuckle. And I don't mind that at all, since I feel that more showing of their true colors, at this point, will no longer benefit the MAGA movement, through its encouraging of the timid, but will rather disgust a greater number who have been timid, thus far, in calling a turd, a turd.

Doesn't MoRon DeathSatan have plenty of Cuban refugees in Floriduh to kidnap and send to the desegregated North? Why poach Venezuelans in Texazz? 1584414801.3623-smiley.gif

He’s out maneuvering Biden and that’s got you triggered. Why aren’t you complaining about the hundreds of illegals El Paso sent to NYC? And when El Paso sent Venezuelans to NYC, you didn’t complain and neither did Adams. In fact, Adams said he was glad to get Venezuelans because NYC has no Venezuelan community.

The more the snowflakes melt, the more Abbott DeSantis knows how to get under their skin. But in the end, the loudest screaming regarding the shipping of illegals all over the country came from liberals when conservatives put chocolate syrup on vanilla ice cream, and that is when the liberal hypocrisy and racism was shown to the entire country.

    What pathetic little bitches.

Biden and his mop head both said the Venezuelans are fleeing communism. I thought the left loved Venezuela and their political system.

When I first heard about MV immediately going into crisis mode and getting the illegals deported I had lots of thoughts that I couldn’t put my finger on until now.

MV is like that golf club in Caddy Shack where Ted Knight is an elitist snob who wants the riff raff to stay on their of the tracks.

Funny, the only "screaming," I've heard about this issue, has come from your own side's little Bees, who keep yelling that we on the left are "triggered," because we are appalled at both a governor, and a leading member of the GOP, being such a lowlife, and being applauded for it. But, like the vast majority of claims that one hears from Trumpers, these charges are all sizzle, and no steak. Take your own post, as a model: lots of claims; numerous possibilities for bolstering your own opinion with quoted substantiation; yet, at the end, we have only your word to take, for any of it. And the only people who will take that thing, of dubious value, are those who are already, naturally, agreeable to the views emitted from your mouth & brain.

What substantiation, you ask? Well, for instance, your claim that NYC Mayor Eric Adams is approving of these Republican antics. That had not been my impression, but I hadn't been paying close attention, so let's check that out, now:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.th.../adams-asylum-abbott-border-flights?_amp=true

    Here is the article's title:

As Adams Attacks GOP Govs, Many New Migrants from Border to NYC Come on Their Own

This, alone, debunks both your claim about Adams, as well as the self-pitying complaint of Republicans, that only
they are saddled with immigrants (translated by you & others, that people in the north have no experience with illegal immigration). My initial reaction to your claim that Adams didn't complain about, "the hundreds of illegals El Paso sent to NYC," in fact, was that it would be near impossible to notice such a small splash, in the multiracial, and multiple legal status, NYC pool. But the word that Adams does use, quoted in the article, to refer to these Republican governors' acts-- which makes your depicting of him, as feeling Republicans were doing him a favor, seem inaccurate-- is "inhumane." Is that term, in your mind, a positive assessment?

So it turns out, you never really had an argument like you claimed; you simply wanted to insult me. OK well mission accomplished. Hope you were able to rub your hands together and cackle while doing it.

Non sequitur. I did have an argument; in fact, I made it! Then, instead of responding, you ignored it. How that could bring you to state-- without explanation-- that I "never really had an argument," but rather only wanted to insult you, is nothing that could be reasonably related, anyway. But just FYI, finding out you had no interest in dueling over the facts of this story, led me to no, savored cackling, on my end.

That's not accurate. You are the one who didn't want to discuss THIS story, you wanted to switch to "Biden's & Trump's measures to address the situation--; " something that has nothing to do with "the facts of this story." So if you want to argue about a fact on this particular story, go ahead. Let's see what "fact" you have in mind.

Border Town Puts Up ‘Martha’s Vineyard’ Sign In Hopes Government Will Come Pick Up All Their Illegal Immigrants.

'DEL RIO, TX — Impressed by the efficiency of Martha's Vineyard in expelling their migrants in less than 48 hours, several border towns in Texas have begun adopting best practices from the affluent Massachusetts island. One prominent change that Del Rio has already made is replacing their "Welcome To Del Rio" sign with a "Welcome To Martha's Vineyard" sign so that migrants will know that there are not enough resources, they are not wanted, and they need to leave immediately.'

    INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

'"We've never seen anything like it – the Martha's Vineyard team had the migrants gone in 48 hours flat! We haven't ever been able to put up numbers like that, so we're taking a page out of their playbook." Del Rio resident Dee Porter spoke to reporters about the "Unwelcome Committee" that the town has formed to study the methods used at Martha's Vineyard for migrant removal.'

THAT WAS GREAT ILLEGAL REMOVAL SERVICE

'While Del Rio's new Unwelcome Committee has implemented some more creative methods for making the migrants feel unwelcome, they confirmed that adding the "Welcome to Martha's Vineyard" sign was priority number one, since Martha's Vineyard was the original inspiration for forming the committee and remains the "gold standard" for speedy migrant removal. Del Rio has already started playing the song "Closing Time" on the town's PA system as well and placed orders for flashing neon signs that say "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here" in the "arrivals" section of the airport.'

'Other border towns have taken similar approaches, with Rio Grande City also taking a page out of the Martha's Vineyard playbook by calling in the national guard to remove the migrants. The national guard responded in record time when they saw the "Welcome to Martha's Vineyard" sign and thought that a Democrat vacation town was being inundated rather than "the usual flyover state that can probably handle it anyway."'

LOOKING FOR PRIVILEGED GENTRY LEVEL SERVICE FOR FLY OVER TOWNS

'The Justice Department has launched an investigation of the border towns that have begun using the methods that Martha's Vineyard used to remove their migrants since those methods are only supposed to be for rich white Democrat strongholds.'

    KNOW YOUR PLACES, SERFS!

My first post, which has nothing to do with Trump:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...arthas-vineyard.603809/page-9#post-1073728414

My second post, was a reply to you. No mention of Trump.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...arthas-vineyard.603809/page-9#post-1073728421

3rd post, a brief reiteration, to my first Republican interlocutor, but not my last, avoiding the facts of this case.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...arthas-vineyard.603809/page-9#post-1073728432

My next post, of any substance, still talking exclusively about that moRon DeSantis, though I see that Republicans, for their part, have posted a pics of Barack & Michelle Obama, with a pistol and assault rifle.

    DEFinning said: ↑
See Steve, it's statements like that which unfairly stain all Rednecks, as being clueless and uninformed. If you don't think there are many undocumented immigrants NEW YORK, then I might be fighting against an unnavigable current, but your idea that they all stay near the border, is ridiculous in its conception, and absurd in relation to the facts. In my own, Connecticut city, we have a sizable immigrant community, and the portion of that population that is here illegally, has been a local concern. We now have a very large Brazilian community, which may or may not be related to our long established, legal, Portuguese community (as they share the same language). But we also have sizable numbers here from Equador & Guatemala, as well as people from Mexico, Columbia, and elsewhere. One third of my city's population, as a matter of fact, is either Hispanic or Latino. So I hope that your thinking that now "sending those illegals into liberals cities and states seems to be just starting," will teach you, to think. It is sometimes amusing, when you do, though, like your adding, "and likely growing," as if the 50 at a time being sent by a couple of Southern governors, is a significant uptick, in immigrants reaching states in the north. Or, from a subsequent post, when you said, all seriously:

You can be a real hoot, Steve, when you're talking like a fool!
    [End]

Next, I respond to a Republican who had brought gun rights, to this immigration debate, for some reason.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...rthas-vineyard.603809/page-10#post-1073728556

Then, because I'd told Steve N, that we know about illegal immigrants, in the north-- my own town is a third Hispanic/Latino, and estimates are that about third of that (possibly 1/8 of my city's population) is here illegally-- I must respond to his post in which he tries to guess my city, based only on having heard bad things about one particular CT city, & so incorrectly assumes that must be my own home.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...rthas-vineyard.603809/page-10#post-1073728562

Have you yet noticed the emerging picture, of me talking about what DeSantis did, while Republicans/Rightists keep changing the topic, in their deflections? Excuse me, for just a moment, as this seems a good time to address this post, I've just seen, by Quantum Nerd

    upload_2022-9-16_13-16-55.png upload_2022-9-16_13-16-55.png upload_2022-9-16_13-16-55.png

You've presented the Right with the one thing that puts them at an unfair disadvantage: FACTS.

    Good job!

Back to this mystery, about you, Lil Mike, not realizing I'd made my argument repeatedly, throughout this thread, even though you were one of those I'd been making it to. So, what came next? What else-- more off topic "argument," from the Right:

    Pieces of Malarkey said: ↑
OK. Count me in. I'm a Conservative who really doesn't give a flip about progressive whining.

If you haven't yet absorbed all of my opinion, this upcoming post is well laid out, I think, though it was actually posted in a different thread:
And back to the Peanut gallery:

    hawgsalot said: ↑
Yea leave them in that texas desert or florida swamp damnit.

    DEFinning said: ↑
Yeah, 'cause they don't have the sense, after coming thousands of miles to get to our border, to go a little farther, to any other state.

God, the ignorance of so many, expressing this same silly idea, is dispiriting to anyone with even a tentative hopefulness, in democracy's potential.
    [End]

Since this post is getting so long, I will pick up from here, in my next post.

So...your issue is governors using public funds to transport people to another State? THAT's what you are upset about? And all the times it's happened before, for some reason never riled you up but THIS particular one does?

That sounds like you don't have much of a complaint at all.

They’re triggered by what they’re told to be triggered by and none of them seem to be triggered by democrat El Paso sending buses of illegals all over the place.

You do not read with much insight, or else you are purposely giving a terrible summation of my complaints with DeSantis, over this. But before I tell you them a fifth time-- 'cause I'm sure that one, will be the charm-- I am going to call out this bogus argument you are trying to make, that this is not much of a reason, to even bother raising an objection. Do I have to remind you of the kind of things that the new breed Republicans (which category, you seem to generally fall within), have been having apoplectic fits over, for it seems years now?

    1) The private Trust, maintaining
Dr.Seuss's legacy, deciding to pull a couple of titles that haven't aged well-- or, as the Right would say, authoritarian, cancel- culture Progressives, censoring literature, to control our perceptions, and thus our way of thinking.

    2) Football players, kneeling in protest, during the national anthem.

    3) Nancy Pelosi flying on the government's dime, to have meetings with foreign leaders.

    4) People thinking of themselves, as "woke."

    5) Why do I have to wear a mask, around other people?

    6) People who ask to be referred to with an an
unexpected pronoun-- again, those on the Right, blow this most trivial of things, into some serious threat, upon their own liberties. I actually read one of your lot, maintaining that to just ask for this, is tantamount to that person trying to make him-- wait for it-- their slave!

    7) There were just too many, outrage filled threads, about nothing of the least consequence, to remember even a quarter of them. Like some word which Nancy Pelosi, or another Democratic pol had used. Or some innocent thing Biden said; or a simple misspeaking by the President.

One person thought it was a huge deal, that celebrities were sympathetic toward, or supportive of, Anne Heche, after she drove into someone's house or something (while drunk, I guess). Another complained for page after page, because his cousin went on a trip to New Orleans, at Mardis Gras, and then was disgusted by the LGBT parade, on their street; her family couldn't look out the hotel window-- and they had paid extra for the room!

Yet you are now citing anyone having a complaint about Florida's governor, paying someone to find him immigrants in Texas (legally going through the asylum process, after walking all the way from Venezuela, at considerable risk, not to mention hardship, to themselves, and their children) who he could lie to, and convince to fly to Martha's Vineyard, where they would not only be disappointed to find, existed none of the jobs or homes promised to them but also, because this scam involved falsifying these immigrants' addresses, for some reason, some would unavoidably find themselves in violation of the asylum protocols, and so be deported, as making a big fuss over nothing important, is both a hypocritical, and a heartless, perspective.

Do you realize that of your post, only one paragraph was at all relevant to this thread or my comments in this thread? That's why you seem to be constantly frustrated by my replies to your comments because your comments are largely irrelevant. Just in terms of posting guidance, you should really try to narrow your focus in a thread to the thread. Otherwise, it doesn't really make sense. I mean, are you going to think I'm dodging the issue by not responding to your comment about celebrities response to Ann Heche? Off the wall comments like that devalue your comments overall but I'm not sure you realize that.

Now to the single paragraph that you spent on the actual topic, I guess I would need more information on how sending these illegals to Martha's Vinyard is qualitatively different than the administration shipping illegals all over the country by plane and bus for a year and a half. Why are those "good" movements and going to a high income vacation zone is a "bad" movement? Why exactly are you upset about that? What about the illegal's addresses? How is that different from any other illegal movement by the administration?

Yeah, I'm not going to take guidance from someone, while he's proving he is a dysfunctional thinker, or a completely disingenuous poster-- take your pick. So that's where I stopped reading. Your own post, to which I had been replying, had belittled my reasons for faulting DeSantis, as not being worthy of a post. Hence, the things that you and others have felt worthy of entire threads, are certainly relevant, in response; as is my providing aspects of my reasons, for finding DeSantis's act so despicable, which you had left out of your poor description, of my motivations. My reply, then, was as relevant-- I would say more so-- to the thread, than your post, to which I'd been replying, and definitely more so than this current post of yours, in which you point at the splinter you see in my eye, past the board, sticking out of your own.

In fact, I had not even fit all of my of reasons for objecting to DeSantis's move, into that post, which you claim was too long. For, in destroying the dream of being an American citizen for some of these families who'd sacrificed, and made great effort, to reach our border, DeSantis is symbolizing just what kind of person he is, and what kind of President he would be.

He thinks nothing of the consequences to others, or the unfairness, of anything he does, in serving his own,
personal aims. And he is happy to use Florida taxpayer funds, for financing his promotion of himself, to a national audience of voters (at least for the Republican Primaries). But I know, you do not feel this is as significant a thing, to find contemptible as, say, some Democrat, misusing public funds.

You have unmistakably shown your true colors, here. Though I at times reply to posters, of whom I may be less than sure of their sincerity, I do have limits. As such, you have shown yourself, one time too many and, here, too blatantly, to not be worth my time.

DeSantis handled the Scamdemic in accordance with informed consent, individual liberties and common sense.

He has gone to bat for the rights of parents regarding the education of their children. He has defended those children by insisting that mask wearing be the parents' decision and not the states.

Those are things you cannot comprehend or value.

Most folks in Florida recognize and applaud the Governor's leadership qualities and his respect for individual liberty.
