I really hope he does gain support and wins. Actually, I would love to see Gary Johnson win but no-one knows who he is. Spread the word.

Ron Paul doesn't look set to win the Republic primary. However, he may very well be preparing to make a quick shift into an independent run if he loses the Republican primary. Ron Paul may not be able to win a majority of Republicans versus a status-quo Republican candidate like Romney or Perry. However, in the general election, Ron Paul's threat is not his support among Republicans but his huge magnetism among independents and even anti-war Democrats who are fed up with Obama's lies and broken promises to bring the troops home.

I heard Juan Williams say that as many as 65% of Americans are open to the idea of a 3rd-party candidate... that's an all-time record high. Ross Perot managed to garner 20% of the popular after botching his campaign by prematurely bowing out then stepping back in and when popular interest in a 3rd party candidate was much, much lower than it is today.

The Establishment's Republican/Democrat duopoly is in big, big trouble this time around. Even if he doesn't win (odds are, he won't win the Presidency), Ron Paul scares the crap out of the Establishment and they're going to start making bigger and bigger concessions the closer he gets to actually winning. Why do you think the Republican candidates have, all of a sudden, become a bunch of Federal Reserve hawks?

Gary Johnson would never win with his pro abortion stance.

If we get a Republican President we'll be in some new (but unnecessary and drawn-out) war somewhere. Please place your bets as to where we'll be fighting.

Interesting article in this week's Economist suggesting that the extreme-right will manage to lose the election anyway, despite everything. It is difficult to see how they could win and keep the Country together, certainly.

As much as I like Ron Paul, I don't think he will win. I would like to see a Gingrich/Paul ticket, though.

Ron Paul will never win just as Newt will never win. You ask why? Honest men are never winners in American politics. Just take a look at Cain, has no knowledge of foreign policy, economics, you know he has very little knowledge of anything except the Koch brothers are doing their best to install him. He has flip flopped from the beginning but yet some how seems to stay on top. Americans love a loser. Take a look at our present potus and you can see it plain as day.

Oh wow.. do you honestly expect me to believe that a couple brothers have the power to play kingmaker in such a fashion?

I love this crap. Get over your paranoia, no one in America has the power to put anyone in power except the American voter. There are a bunch of candidates to choose from, and Republicans have ample opportunities to choose which ones they want.

If what you said were true, then why is the "establishment choice" Romney still 2nd place despite every attempt by media, establishment pundits, etc. to get Romney the GOP nod?

    Interesting points.
    1. Honest men never win ?
So how to judge honesty ?
I bet Newt and Perry and Cain would come up well short on my areas of honesty topics.

    2. Americans love a loser ?
I really dont appreciate them any more than winners..But American's must not love Paul that much .

    3.Establishment choice ?
    Romney is what establishments choice...?
He is well liked by business..Wall St. ,Main St. and those who create wealth and jobs..because they know He represents That interest better than Obama..or Paul or the other conservatives without real world experience.

Paul has the anti establishment vote ( which is establishment to him )
Obama has the union /black/minority establishment vote..the nanny state voters.
    The others ?
they cant even hold the tea party majority.

    4. Smart money picks Romney by 70 %..you can place and win big on Paul if you want ..tell us how much you wagered.

    5. Cubs Win!.. Cubs Win !
    about when Paul wins.
    Could happen next year ??

    6. Flip flop mania...its better to be wrong than right and never change ?
Nice world you live in..I bet you guys never voted for any other party politicians ?
As captain of the Titanic I am sure I have your approval to set a course straight though a ice pack..full speed ahead.
Wouldn't want to proceed with caution..zig and zag to miss those pesky ice chunks. But if I am positive..confident..and well read..I can navigate where others have never gone before. I never sailed anything bigger than my rubber ducky in the bath tub..but dont worry..I can crack one liners..and after all IMAGE is everything.

Did I mention I used to drive trains..never hit a ice berg anytime I was in charge..Silly passengers..life jackets are for losers.
It's dark..I cant see..but another ship went this way several years ago..no problems..
    Full speed ahead..

The American vote is an illusion. Money is power and the Koch brothers have a lot of it. If no one with money has the power to do such a thing then explain why no one with money ever goes to jail. Why do we not have a jail full of wall streeters who pulled the biggest plunder of all time? I know Bernie Madoff, he was a sacrificial lamb. There were more involved believe me. Then of coarse you have the sec who conveniently over looked the whole thing, right.

No, but you can gleen light in to someones personality by pranking them. He seems to me, to be quite the intollerant sour old man. If it were me in that situation I would be laughing myself to tears. Funny thing is many people seem to forget, he is a politician, no better than any other politician.

oh, my mistake. there must be something else you don't like about his ideas?

interesting. ron paul is a very busy man and bruno was wasting his time. I'm surprised he handled himself as well as he did.

Remember the standings four years ago.

In March, it will be between Romney and Perry, and Perry will win. Hide and watch.:)

as much as I distrust and dislike perry, excluding ron paul, I dislike and distrust the rest more. perry is probably the only one that ron paul should not challenge with a third party run. but I could be wrong, maybe he should challenge him too.

Yea, not suprised you think so. Ron paul is an empy suit like all the other politicians. Giving off the grandfather, calm and collected professional vibe as long as the camera is on him. But the real Paul shows up when he thinks no one is looking. Sour old man that obviously has a problem with "Queers". Most people, after being told it was a joke, would have laughed it off. Ever meet those people that cant take a joke? If he cant handle Bruno, how is.he.going to handle issues that come up as a president. Is he going to go on a tirade every time someone from Saturday night live does a satirical skit making fun of him?

Apparently you don't know anything about his positions, and the extent of your knowledge begins and ends with a Bruno comedy routine. I am not surprised.

And just like most paul supporters i have met. If you dont agree with him, your an idiot.. The extent of your knowledge, of my knowledge, of pauls positions begins and ends with a Bruno comedy routine. Your the one making the assumption that i know nothing. This even simply added th what i already know about the man and confirmed my dislike of him.
