I did say state, right. Wyoming was still just a territory when they gave the women the vote. Colorado was the state, that first allowed women to vote. It was actually part of the same movement. It began in Wyoming and Colorado and spread across the West. There has always been the story, that there was an effort by which women would deny her husband sex, if he did not support a woman’s right to vote. When the University of Colorado opened, the first professor they hired was a woman. When the feminist movement hit its stride in the sixties and seventies, Colorado was at the forefront of the movement.

If one desires employment in any of the STEM fields, Iowa is not the place to be.

I had an ancestor who joined the Union Army during the Civil War. He rose to the rank of Captain. For his services he was given 500 acres of prime farmland in Ohio. On that land he raised hogs. As Iowa became settled, he discovered that there was a strong market for breeding stock in Iowa. He began to export pigs to Iowa and made a small fortune. So much so that he co-founded a bank in Iowa.

Please stop posting things like these. We rural folks don't want to be invaded by left wing city dwellers. Keep it to your self. Please.

Most Californians are moving to Nevada and Oregon.

I have long lived in liberal oases. I have a good life. I laugh at conservatives who repeatedly try to insist that liberal areas are somehow inferior. Around here, they use electric lighting, not gas.

Californians ARE NOT moving out in any kind of significant number, that has already been disproven.

Trump is not responsible for all covid deaths but many on here blame Trump. As for Chicago it's mostly black on black killing.

What does others blaming Trump for COVID deaths have to do with me? Wait...did you assume I thought the same thing? If yes...don’t do that.

Iowa is big for corn and beans but is also the biggest hog producer I believe. We have rich fertile land for farming and parts of the state are very flat.

Most of the city folk I work with are Democrats but still nice people. It's interesting talking to them. Most Iowa Democrats don't seem to be far left radicals like they are in other states but I don't know them that well.

You are wrong. Hundreds of thousunds of Californians have moved out of the state as several articles I read stated. The 2020 Cencus supports this. The state lost 2 electorial votes.

The highest birth rates occur in rural states. Utah, Alska, The Dakota's, Nebraska etc. Rural states are best for raising a family.

I'm not following your thinking here.

Perhaps what you know as Progressives, aren't the equivalent of the Progressives we have here in the US.

Iowa doesn't have big badly managed cities like some other states. I lived in Des Moines for a short while. It is nothing like New York or Baltimore. I never even encountered any political talk there.
