The S-300 is considered superior to the Patriot missile system so this is probably bad news for non-stealthy planes or missiles trying to hit Iran.
A few months ago, Putin warned the West, "Don't mess with us!" We did, we do, and we have no plans to quit messing with the Russian Federation. And, so.... It's one thing to mess with a country where the people are stupid, docile, leaderless, directionless, and increasingly useless (like the United States has become under Obama), but it is an entirely different thing to mess with a country of proud, hardy, patriotic, angry people who love their president, love their country, and won't put up with any bull(*)(*)(*)(*) from a cabal of internationalist central bankers who use sanctions to force them to obey. Doubtful. If Iran gets the bomb they will become a hegemon in the region meaning they will basically be able to dictate or at least, heavily influence, the entire region. That is a lot of power for one nation to hold and its doubtful they are going to risk total annihilation simply to bomb Israel. Also, history has shown that every nation that has gotten the bomb has become somewhat more responsible with their military actions. Even North Korea does nothing more than talk. Its more likely that when Iran gets the bomb they will use that power to start affecting that regions oil supply to benefit Iran. This can be done in a number of ways which is really a fun debate, a lot of economic stuff, but they are not going to simply throw that much power away for a few Jews. Iran will become a major player on the world stage overnight and other nations, and the UN, will now have to take what they say very seriously, Iran will have input in world matters and their opinion will carry a lot more weight than it does now.
The defense of S-300 will allow Iran to have a tough bargain with the US and its ally in the region to play tough. Without S-300 it is virtually possible for US and Israel to attack Iran with the help of the planes and crush the army of Iran before the land army comes to them. This argument limits the struggle of shiites against Islamic State of America. So S-300 ban was a part of bigger game and the cancel of ban allows US to break their backbone in the fight against the world peace. Although it is far not the guarantee of peace.
Good old Vlad. He wants to protect the 8 nuclear plants he is building for Iran and hey why not make some more money. Now Vlad at the same time as doing that was making overtures to Saudi Arabia, Israel and Syria to trust him to be more sympathetic to their security needs than the US. whyt is it so important for you people to be so ignorant? The Russian missile defense is no threat to US planes. Putin is just picking up a quick rubble. we just have to improve israels planes defenses.
S-300 is a medieval petard. Outdated defensive arms. This Russian surface-to-air missile will help Iran a little. S-500 is much better.
It would be good for the world if Iran had the means to defend itself from any Israeli sneak attack. Nothing would make me happier than seeing Israeli jets being blown to bits in an attempt to invade and bomb Iran or any other country.
I agree. Each country has the right to have the defensive weapon. But I am afraid that aggressors already prepares the plan for number of the shot-down passenger planes which will depart at distance of 300 kilometers from border of Iran.
