Why the West has not awakened from the loud ticks of its own demographic time bomb is BEYOND ME.

I see the Muslim World has absolutely rejected the West's decadent, hedonistic consumer culture. At this rate, the only thing they will have to do is wait around another couple generations and there won't be any despicable European Christians left. They will walk right into Europe unopposed - the only European Christians remaining at that point will be elderly white-haired ones incapable of resisting the Caliphate.

Russia is not part of the West. What are you talking about?

Most Russians (90+%) are ethnically European Not only this - their demographic trends mirror those of other ethnic European countries. Note how in the article the fertility of Russia's Muslim territories is very high, but in the heavily European areas it is still dangerously low.

Russia is not part of the West. I'm from America and I can assure you that Russia, or ethnic Russians are not part of the West or our culture. Europeans would be offended by your claim that Russia is part of the West. Especially those in Eastern Europe.

Russia, like the rest of Europe, was full of people who bred like rabbits and pushed in all over the place where they weren't wanted. Let 'em rest. If the 3% of Muslims in Britain, for instance, are able to take over, they will doubtless elect some innumerate American Queen, and good luck to them: they will be remarkable folk!

Yet Turkey, with its backwards culture and recent history of religious fanaticism, is under EU membership consideration. Funny I don't hear a similar outrage about this Muslim country trying to join the EU. All I notice are people like yourself trying to divide European peoples spread throughout the world.

Russian culture is much more similar to that of Europe than its truly Asian neighbors like China, Mongolia, Japan and the Koreas.

Remember a few years ago when the Russian government was going to award people with cars if they had more children? That's how desperate their situation has become.

You are, of course, right about Russia's muslim population. They are outbreeding the Ruskies at a record rate, and will become the majority within the next half-century or so. There will be no need for violent jihad. They'll just simply take over. That was the plan, all along.

    Here's my favorite, though

There are many problems in Russia that are contributing to the decrease in size of its population. Factors which the West largely do not share. Russia is rampant with STDS/HIV/AIDs for starters. They also lack quality education compared to most of the West. And there is an overwhelming inequality of wealth. The few in Russia that are wealthy, are obscenely rich. While most of the country is very poor and have very little to their names. All of these factors are negative impacts on its population size. Its not just simply people wanting to have babies or not. Its that there isn't enough support to allow an increase in its population.

As for you're assessment that the barbarian hordes (AKA Muslims) will overrun Europe, I wouldn't count on it. Europeans and Muslims have been neighbors with each other for a very long time. I'd say the whites are still the majority there now and will likely continue to be for quite some time.

Have you ever heard of the Cold War? I'd suggest you take 5 minutes and google that.

The fertility rate in Russia is similar to the rates in Portugal, Spain, and other Western European countries. Suicidal is a good word for it. The same is happening in pretty much every Western country. Our population would be declining as well if it wasn't for Hispanics outbreeding everyone else with the hopes of one day reclaiming America. A population needs a fertility rate of 2.1-2.2 to just stay where it is. In Spain, the rate is at 1.1 percent. This means the population will be cut in half every 35 years.

Not true. Germany will be majority Muslim by 2050. The same will likely happen in France.

More access to education usually equates to lower birthrates.

Poverty almost always equates to higher birthrates.

    What gives?

I think the professor from the article summed it up perfectly:

A hedonistic consumer culture. Does he bother to elaborate on his one sentence conclusion? or is that all we get?

A hedonistic consumer culture is one that is not family focused, one that focuses on "Me, me, me" and not family. The decadence and selfishness of today's consumer culture almost certainly contributes to the staggering abortion rate in Europe and probably Russia as well.

At present the white European male is too scared of being branded a racist "heretic" for not "embracing the downfall of his own race".

True progress and education cause lower birth rates but perhaps we're just not at the point yet where we can actually manufacture a human being sans a sexual process. When that happens (and it will) we better well have some shared morals and values. Russian or American or European

Why can't we all just breed at "replacement rate"?

The most worthless peoples on the planet have the highest fertility by far, yet the Einsteins, Ben Franklins, and Thomas Edisons of the world are perilously sub-fertile. We are going to be extinct if not by the end of the century!!!

Why don't people wake up???

You have to be careful when you try to quantify impose your 'replacement rate' onto others. Placing qualitative judgement on folks is fine as long as you don't have the power to step on their rights. Have you considered that the Einsteins, Ben Franklins, Thomas Edisons of the world were created by more diverse, not less diverse, genetic influence?

Important to remember that 'political correctness' is like Little Red Riding Hood - a made up story having no very obvious connection with the real world (except, of course, in gaining a few more mugs to support the extreme- right nutters).

Yes, but they all came from a single region (Europe) that has produced almost all of the famous inventors for the last 1,000 years.
