How are you going to enforce background checks on sales between private parties? If I sell a gun to my friend, who is going to know if we do a background check or not? If you are advocating for a gun registry then that's a deal breaker and the reason that "Universal Background checks" didn't pass in congress.

If you are found with a gun where the transfer never recorded a bg check for the sale, the buyer would lose the gun and the seller could have to pay a fine.

It's like speeding, there is a law, and some people obey because of the deterrence, and some people don't, but that doesn't make the law any less valid.

The same way it works now. Except for everyone, rather then the licensed few. This isn't rocket science.

Except without a national database how would it be enforced, you are correct....this isn't rocket science.
Then given the fact that the government penalizes so few violations of the current laws on the books because the are trivial crimes....what do you expect to accomplish with more unenforced laws? Just more wishful thinking.

First off, a registration is prohibited by the Constitution.
    Secondly, registration leads to confiscation.
Lots of people??really..you mean like Reid and Pelosi as well as Schumer? Ya mean these people who are going to keep their guns regardless of any laws?
And so what about the capacity of magazines. Lawful owners should be able to afford what the size of their wallets dictate
