you can read the article here

Articles like these frustrate the hell out of me. Its not because of it's lean, though I know some hyper-partisans wacks are bound to come on and say that it's because I'm partisan and don't like the slant of the article. :/ The problem is a level of dishonesty.

First, the article claims that the conservative outrage is because "that the Obama administration knew that many people in the individual insurance market would not be able to keep their plans once the Affordable Care Act took effect." Well, this isn't true to begin with. It's that Obama outright lied - don't sugarcoat it. He said that those who like their doctors "will be able to keep them" and those who like their healthcare plans "will be able to keep them." Color me purple, but I thought there was bipartisan opposition to lies and deceit.

Second, the article says that those who lose their coverage "will have better and more comprehensive options." Options. What kind of f***ing limit of options was in place before Obamacare? None! It's Obamacare that places the limit on options!

Third, the article is more than just partisan. The author has a known bias, that's fine and there's nothing wrong with that. What's wrong is that it is so overly-partisan that it stoops to petty insults of the opposing side. Those of you who have been on the forum for a while know that, as satisfying as it may sometimes be to insult the other side (especially when they're being intransigent), it never wins you any points. In fact, it furthers the gap between you and their person your discussing politics with and alienates them. What's wrong with this is it shows that you're genuinely uninterested in working with the other side. Now it's one thing to note how this one guy's being a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*), but to paint nearly half the country as one giant pile of (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s? :wall: Not going to help.
