I believe that in order to defeat ISIS without spending enormous amounts of our tax money as well as putting our soldiers lives at risk, we need to make Saudi Arabia (and the rich gulf nations like Qatar and Dubai) fight their own battles. If they are truly an ally of the west, they need to clean up their own mess. They spend millions of dollars to build mosques in Europe (and around the world) that preach Wahhabism, a radical, extremely conservative sect of Sunni Islam(Note, ISIS and Al Qaeda are also radical Sunni). The Saudi's have the largest military in the middle east, partly because of the US tax payers.

It's time they stepped up to the plate with the refugee situation (so far, they have officially taken in close to zero. They claim they are educating the children of refugees, but no official number has been confirmed by sources outside the Saudi government), and it's beyond time they use the resources necessary to defeat ISIS. If they do not, I think the west along with Russia and China should place heavy economic sanctions on them, as well as call them out on the world stage. They have gotten a free pass for too long.

    What do you say?

    sounds good to me :)

We really need to step up alternative energy though. The sooner we can ignore everyone killing each other over there the better.

Well, "they are idiots"... The Gulf States didn't create ISIS.. The US invasion of Iraq created ISIS.

The Saudis don't belong to the UN Refugee Convention.. and they don't call the Syrians refugees.. They have been given permanent residency status and they are not in refugee camps.. You ought to make some effort to get the facts.

You obviously didn't click on ONE link I provided, or you would never make such a statement. Sounds to me like the Saudi's are pretty horrible....There has been zero evidence of them taking in refugees from Syria.

Nice to see that whether Trump ends up wining or not, his message is actually getting through ;)

    all about leverage baby.

    example

Obama : please step up your spending in nato. <-- no leverage. its not even negotiating its grovelling. Denial has no consequence.

Trump : I will leave NATO unless you step up your spending <---- has leverage.

Are you able to understand justifiable criticism of conservative Islam, as opposed to outright bigotry?

Yes. And I am happy to see that you took Trump's message of cutting aid and support to rogue countries who hate the US and western values to heart.

Are you being sarcastic or genuine? I am definitely not a Trump supporter by any means, but still get flack from many "liberals" for criticizing Islam.

Definitely not sarcastic, genuine with a tiny bit of irony. :) I do fully agree with your OP and for me it frankly is not even an Islam thing but more like having countries pay their fair share, especially hostile countries like Saudi Arabia which hates the US and all it stands for. And this happens to be one of Trump's main campaign themes.

I'm glad you agree :) Trump is a bigot, so I do not and will not support him. He and his ilk don't have the intellectual capacity to understand what we are talking about here, or this would have been touched on already!

There is plenty of evidence for the 500,000 Syrians who have been settled in Arabia, you just don't know where to look or how refugees are register and counted by the UNRC... The Syrians have been arriving since 2011 and they are on VISAS.. and counted as permanent residents.

The Sudeiri Seven had a Syrian mother.

This article admits they haven't taken any, while trying to make another point.

Well, we can also do more domestic drilling and refining. Even before alternative energy becomes economical, we can become oil self-sufficient.
