Sarah Palin Calls Out Tina Fey Again The Huffington Post | By David McCabe | Posted: 08/21/2014 11:59 am EDT Excerpts: "Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hasn't forgotten the way Tina Fey impersonated her on "Saturday Night Live." Shortly after Palin was selected as Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain's running mate during the 2008 presidential election, Fey debuted her impression of the then-governor of Alaska. Alongside Amy Poehler, who acted as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Fey parodied what many viewed as Palin's naïveté on a variety of policy issues. "I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy," said Poehler as Clinton. Acting as Palin, Fey replied, "And I can see Russia from my house!" In a new edition of the book Live From New York by Tom Shales and James Miller, Palin says Fey might owe her one. "You need to at least pay for my kids' braces or something from all the money that you made off of pretending that you're me! My goodness, you capitalized on that," Palin said she would tell the "30 Rock" actress if she encountered her today, according to a book excerpt published in the Hollywood Reporter. "Can't you contribute a little bit? Jeez!" Palin also suggested that SNL's producers were "egotistical" if they thought their work had any influence on the election. "I think SNL is egotistical if they believe that it was truly an effect on maybe the public debate about who should lead the country in the next four years," Palin told the book's authors, adding that she appeared on the show to counter the implications of Fey's impression. "I know that they portrayed me as an idiot, and I hated that," she said. This is not the first time that the former Alaska governor has expressed her displeasure with Fey. In 2009, she told an interviewer, 'I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year....That's a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society.' IMO: As Palin tries to grab a fast fading spotlight in our country's political sphere, she goes eafter Tina Fey and asks her to donate toward her kids' braces for all the money she made impersonating her. Palin is always with the handouts from anybody, and she probably is the virtual Queen of Welfare next to Michele Bachmann who made a colossal amount off her 23 adopted kids from taxpayers funds. Palin tries it on her books, but appears to be building up some animosity toward Tina Fey as she slowly realizes that she is not the Vice President. She was a big joke from the start and will be on John McCain's mind till he floats away into lala-land as she personally blocked his rise to the White House with his poorly conceived logical selection of a running mate. It wasn't that Palin was so hard for Fey to imitate, (we all were doing it)...it was because Palin was so common!
IMO Sarah Palin would go away if the left would just let it go............. John McCain was done before he started............nice intellectual dishonesty......... McSame never stood a chance - - - Updated - - - Then stop hitting the reset button for her................
Frankly, PALIN does not want to begin to match 'wits' (or wit) with Tina Fey. She would be decidedly disadvantaged. Hasn't ol Sarah made enough money with FOX and her 'reality' series and her 'on line channel'? Does she expect a cut of TINA FEY'S salary?? Fey has moved on. Doesn't sound like Sarah has. Having said all that, that was SERENDIPITOUS. Tina's face, hair color and general physique. All it took was an 'updo', a pair of glasses and a very slight accent! COMEDIC HEAVEN!
No! Sarah puts her pretty little face in front of the cameras and the microphones weekly. She was VP contender. If she wants to discuss petitpoint pillows or designer eyeglass frames or the Iditarod, we won't say word!! She discusses politics, she's 'fair game'.
"I know that they portrayed me as an idiot, and I hated that," she said. Well, in all fairness, if she had been portrayed as intelligent, would that not have been a dishonest representation?
The only outlet that lets her speak is Fox news Your argument is akin to complaining about a preacher preaching to the choir.........
Good grief the woman was on SNL parodying herself, it was a joke, she needs to let it go after all these years.
Is she not? She seems to have her adoring fans. She is a public speaker at many events. Politicians court her endorsement and use it to try and get votes. She has her own internet channel. She has a PAC.
War on women is alive and well in the Democratic Party I see... Not for all women, just those who tow the party line...very hypocritical, but predictable. - - - Updated - - - War on women alive and well in the Democratic Party--- this time by a woman!
When are you libs going to realize it's you guys who keep renewing her 15 minutes of fame? And speaking of not being 'bright enuf'.... who was it who said the U.S. Constitution was written around 2,000 yrs ago? It wasn't Palin, but Obama, your very own POTUS... now that I find scary, not anything that Palin says........
Palin needs to take her own advice
""""You need to at least pay for my kids' braces or something from all the money that you made off of pretending that you're me! My goodness, you capitalized on that," Palin said""" Said the person who capitalizes on anything she can.... Palin: " 'I did see that Tina Fey was named entertainer of the year....That's a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society.' """"" What does it say, Palin?? What does it say about society that they like a funny talented performer and didn't like YOU! Are you, Palin, saying you don't like American society????? The why did you want to be VP of this society??? - - - Updated - - - Nobody is more obsessed with Palin than Palin....and the REPUBLICANS who wanted her as VP (how obsessed can ya get!?!?!?)
Ah, but she's bright enough to know how to spell her name! And trust me, she's still famous! And very easily recognized. Unfortunately, the snippet in the OP about Tina Fey's mockery not affecting the election is probably inaccurate. As many low information voters as there are out there (zero information is more like it) and considering most of them actually think Sarah did say she could see Russia from her house, it's likely Fey had an effect. It is amazing that democrats won't let her sink into obscurity. that horse is D-E-A-D! why keep flogging such an irrelevant personage as Palin? I suppose its mostly because she keeps neighing about stuff she has no clue about, in a desperate attempt at relevance, pandering to the tea party base with her wave-the-flag sloganeering. She did make a ton of dough tho, so she might not be a intellectual giant, but she was smart enough to capitali$e to the max on her 15 minutes.
You can always expect some liberal to start a thread about Palin. The liberals here talking about her is the only time I read anything about her.
Excellent video of the ignorance of the voters........ Had to laugh at the part where they were asked which candidate said we had 57 states. They didn't know, so guessed Palin, when in fact it was their own Harvard grad idol, Obama and still nothing dawned on them.... They knew nothing about Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, etc.... but knew which vp candidate spent $150,000 on clothes and had a pg daughter. My gawd....... and these are voters. That's scary.
OH WOW! Really! You're to be commended....or something.... Now where exactly did I say YOU did???? And, if you ignore the threads Repubs started on her then of course you didn't read theirs....
That's one thing about Obama that would make my teeth rattle when I'd hear him disrespecting our servicemen by addressing them as "CORPSEmen"..... they should call on a 5th grader to teach him how to pronounce the very easy 'corpsmen'........ That's some Commander-in-Chief they have there.....
