nothing illogical or irrational about accusing Trump of being like Hitler.

Hitler has quoted Fascists and posted pictures of Nazi soldiers as if they were Americans

I think you'd be surprised. If the truth were known about what Trump has done, I think he'd be in jail many times over and we'd all be relieved.

Trump has been far more anti-war than his opponents. That helps him politically, just as it has helped Obama.

the Truth is, like Trump, Hitler started as a populist, racist, isolationist, pompous joke.
Trump is becoming scary, now. Trump is even scaring Republican leaders like Ryan, Romney and many congressmen.

Trump is a politician. Hitler is a conquerer. There is nothing compared to what Hitler has done in the past and it shall mark a gruesome history specially for the Jews.

It’s just inappropriate to compare the two.

    wadr and imho, that's nonsense.

Hitler was a politician before he became the worst mass murderer in history. Hitler ran for Chancellor of Germany, which is much like the US President. It was ONLY after Hitler became Chansellor of Germany that he started the Nazi war machine.

When Hitler ran for political office, he was populist, racist, isolationist, and very entertaining according to personal accounts of Germans living at that time. At first he was considered a joke... a loud, populist little guy with a Charlie Chaplin mustache. The similarities of Hitler and Trump's political styles are quite scary.... and apparently are scaring many Jews in the US and Germany.

Please don't talk about what you don't understand.

We should worry when Trump disallows further elections and declares himself Chancellor. Otherwise this is little girl talk.

    the

Do you think that if you keep repeating it, somehow people will buy into this simple and dishonest construct?

Hitler was one of the greatest politicians of his age.

He ate, drank and breathed politics. His endless study and deep understanding of the German psyche, and his ability to harness it within the context of his time are the things that made him chancellor of Germany.
    t
Many of Trump's often reckless comments are facistic. His calls for people to pledge their loyalty to him in campaign rallies (instead of to their country) mirror what Hitler did.

Hitler's rise in German politics in the period between 1929 and 1933, are mirrored closely in the perception and relationship between Trump and the GOP in the 2016 cycle.

At first, both were viewed as bufoons. Then, they were viewed as dangerous bufoons. Then they suceeded in villianizng the political structure and mastering the art of manipulating media. And both, saw estabishment politicians eventually settle for the reality that they might become leader and try and accomodate themselves to the notion that the bufoon may get the top job. So the politicians get out of the way in the hope that they can control the bufoon.

That last part was what the GOP was doing with Trump in May, trying the idea on for size.

Here's where things went off the rails.

Hitler, unlike Trump, was a political animal. He may have been on a ego trip, but he had a clear plan, a vision, and he spent years building and cultivating a major political organization.

Trump has none of these things. His can't even put one paid staffer in each state in the US. His campaign and super pac have less than $2 million in the bank between them.

He rose by villainizing the party and the press. The problem is that the press and the party are still here, and Trump's plan to have them work for him after he insulted and denigrated them for months isn't working.

At this point in Hitler's career, he was co opting the press and making deals with the industrialists.

Trump can't do either. No one trusts him. He has poisoned both wells.

So you don't believe "learning" is a good thing. You'd rather close your eyes and wait until he does these things and THEN worry about it...

How is Donald Trump going to do any of those things? Through Congress and the Senate? Would the Military obey any of this?

I do believe learning is a good thing but don;t believe silly electioneering scare tactics directed at the low info voter is a good thing for anyone.

Read up on what people thought when Hitler was just ranting and raving (like Trump is doing now). Maybe THEY thought it meant nothing and no one would allow him to do what he did.

I'm well aware of the history of Adolf Hitler as well as that of Donald Trump and the US Constitution. You're being very silly.

He wasn't a joke that came out of nowhere. He became leader of the Nazi party in 1921, attempted a coup, was thrown in jail for two years. While in jail he wrote all about his plans for Germany and the Jews in Mein Kampf. After prison, he spent the next 9 years giving speeches extolling nativism, anti-Semitism and Nazi propaganda. This information about him was known before he seized power. That does sound like the entertaining jokester you make him out to be. Any similarity between Hitler and Trump exits only in your mind.
