Sorry but I'm not going to play your words games.
What "word games" would those be?
Patriotism is love of one's country and what it stands for!
America stands for individual rights. A great many patriots have died upholding those individual rights.
The extremist alt right is OPPOSED to those same individual rights ergo they cannot be patriots.
Much like the alt-left/AntiFays
Much like the alt-left/AntiFays.
The fatal mistake you liberals make is that freedom only works for the greater good if it goes hand in hand with personal respect for, and responsibility toward other members of a given society. Those members of it who seek to deny rights to their fellow citizens by various forms of anti-social conduct should be deprived of their own rights as a matter of course.
Assumes facts NOT in evidence!
Maybe I will. I only have a few minutes to post right now though and then I have to get ready for work.
I realized that I didn't address the questions. Here goes.
Yeah, some criminals such as serial-killers and serial-rapists have used all their rights to be protected by the law. I would like to see a system of a more "symetric" way of handling crime; for example, the punishment for murder would be death and stealing a sausage from a store would be punished with something like working for free at the store you stole from 'til the owner thinks you are forgiven. A system where victims get to decide punishment is also a very civilised way of handling crime, imo.
It is all about incentives and death penalty would definitely disincentivise crime.
They are free to do whatever they want as long as I don't have to pay for it.
No. I believe in the notion of "sticks and stones" as a principle; anyone is free to out whatever opinion they wish on their own property.
Who gets to define the term "terrorist?" I, personally, believe in non-interventionism - if there are terrorists in MENA, then it is their problem.
Morally, I am "pro-life"; I do not think abortion is a good thing and we should strive for a society where as few abortions as possible are conducted. However, abortion should not be illegalised as that would only cause the emergence of a black market. If you need an abortion, you pay for it yourself. But, you should always make sure to use contraception if you seek sexual intercourse, but do not want children. The keywords are responsibility and self-respect.
Do you oppose:
No, everybody owns themselves and can choose whatever religion they wish.
In my world, 'racism' is genuine hate for a group solely for their race/ethnicity that comes to expression in systematic violence. Hating is not wrong, but violence is. You are free to be a "racist" as long as you don't violate other people's freedom.
Many on here would probably describe me as "sexist", but I actually think judging people based on their physical attributes is as silly as it gets.
If you want immigration, you pay for it yourself. As simple as that.
That don't impress me much.
No, I don't think you do.
Thank you for your response Cerberus.
Of course. Though for myself, it is more about ideological goals and opinion-based specifics so the "righties" appear "loony" as well. I am quite sure the measures it would take to create my ideal world would be extremely unpopular.
Lol, I do believe that last would apply to all humans!
Were you refering to the measures being unpopular? If so, yes. It would be highly unpopular to nearly the entire human race.
Your version, my version, everybody's versions would likely only be Nirvana to the individual.
Exactly. Or sometimes Nirvana to a small, select group. That is why competition is necessary until only a single ideology, set of matching specific opinions, and set of societal norms is left standing.
Seems an unattainable goal.
That is very true. Not unless opposition can be erradicated in a way that leaves too little time to respond and too much ambiguity as to who to retaliate against.
I understand that completely.
Friends close, enemies closer kind of thing.
Here's an example of freedoms being abused: there's a hospice nearby, and there has suddenly been an outbreak of brain-dead morons using the surrounding roads to race each other, somtimes into the early hours of the morning; point is that they've removed the baffles from the silencers of their motorised trail bikes. Imagine living through your last hours with that?
And here's a lesser example: there is also a lovely little park near here, and as I don't have (nor want) a garden I used to spend a pleasant afternoon in good weather relaxing in it and communing with nature, as it were. Then it became habitually a place of choice for a group of other brain-dead morons, who allowed their 'dangerous breeds' dogs to 'exercise' off-leash. This became so uncomfortable that I had to stop using the park . . . even though I pay for its upkeep through my local taxes but the punks don't - how surreal is that? A week or so later I met an elderly woman whom I used to be on nodding terms with, and sometimes sat next to for conversation on the same park bench as her. She told me she'd had to stop using the park too because she has varicose veins, and was scared of being bitten on her legs thence to be rushed to hospital to have the bleeding staunched.
To sum up, the world would be a better place without those life forms.
Are you telling us that there are no local ordinances controlling noise and dogs on leashes?
Separate names with a comma.
