I really liked Carey Wedler's "Dear Liberal Friends" video and tried to find out more about her on the web.

One thing that I found out is that due to things she has published about Israel she has been labelled a "self-hating Jew" by some people.
    http://www.israellycool.com/2014/08/17/anti-israel-moron-of-the-day-carey-elizab...

Then, I was just outside doing some mindless yard work and it occurred to me that since both my sets of grandparents were Christian and I view Christianity as(*)ridiculous at best and an abomination at worst, that I must be a Self-Hating Christian!

I've long thought that the term self-hating Jew was pretty ignorant, but this revelation brought it home even more.

You would have to be Christian to be a self hating Christian.

I think that he meant that any person with a Jewish ancestor might be labelled as a self hating Jew, whether or not they believe in Judaism.

Funny how often labelling someone as a self hating jew passes as an argument.

Being Jewish is a little more complicated than being Christian. I know one can convert, but doesn't your mother have to be Jewish to truly be considered one.

    ...rioters are self hating Democrats.

In response to my sending the "Dear Liberal Friend" video, a friend of mine sent me this video of protesters dancing at the Jefferson Memorial.

He told me that Adam Kokesh is a libertarian and that he and Carey Wedler are an item, things I wasn't aware of.

The video is a little scary:

The first youtube is about Adam Kokesh, an apparent professional protestor/anarchist (google). I didn't watch the whole thing as it doesn't look relevant.

The second, a 'part Jew'? and starts with a fake Ben Gurion quote, and proceeds with a hundred 10 word snippets/charges, all undocumented.

So what is the point of the OP exactly?
    That there aren't self-hating Jews?
    That there aren't Jewish anti-semites?
That someone who is part Jewish can't be unhappy with that part?

Do some black people want to be white/whiter, or wish they were white?
Do some black people look down on other black people as a race, and/or sub-Saharan Africa as mess?
Do some black people look down on darker black people?

Can some Americans, especially extreme leftists, hate America?
Or the same for extreme Israeli/Jewish leftists?

So what is the point of the OP? That the term is impossible?
    It ain't.

The point is the double standard.

People who abandon their Christian upbringing are often called freethinkers, agnostics, or atheists.

Why have I never heard them called "self-hating Christians?"

I guess people think that when you are Jewish, being Jewish is a greater part of your identity. It doesn't just identify your religiously. Apparently it also identifies you ethnically, politically, morally and so on and so forth...

Consequently, when a Jewish person refuses to conform to the "standard" people have in mind, they are labelled as self-hating Jew.

Noam Chomsky is a good example. Since very few people can spar with him on an intellectual level, they just dismiss what he says by calling him a self-hating Jew.

    I agree.

I just think that that's a dishonest, even vicious, tactic, when used by either Christians or by Jewish fundamentalists trying to control what they perceive to be their flock.
