these socialists can never understand cost. It’s not in their blood. They want to investigate oil prices, now Turkey prices, all while never understanding the strain their policies put on a supply chain and labor markets.

I agree. Liberals don't understand the concept of "cost". They want everyone to get everything for free from food to education to housing to medical and more. Its never worked anywhere else in the world but they somehow thing it will be different here.

Oh brother...POULTRY-GATE! Should Pocahontas' brain-fart become a reality it'll be NOTHING more than news bites for their lapdog's media of Democratic senators grandstanding and bloviating at industry representatives while blithely IGNORING THEIR HAND in the economic mess we're in....COLOR ME LESS THAN IMPRESSED!

I wonder how long it'll take this comitee to realize that turkeys are more expensive because theres less people raising turkeys, and I wonder what they think they can do about that...

My son in law and I bagged 2 turkeys, 2 pheasant and 6 big quail on Sunday up on the rim near Show Low ... great morning for us with my awesome Springer Katie ... she laid quiet for the early turkey shoot but sprang into action when we went into the bush for small game birds ... her flushing the pheasants was a bonus considering our intel showed no pheasant in the area ... it will be a bountiful Thanksgiving ...

Supply chain problems are causing shortages while Transportation Secretary Buttigieg takes two weeks maternity leave for adopted twins.

    Thanks Biden!

More power to ya! But I hate nature. Too many years in the Army. I've awakened under a foot of snow on the deck of a tank in Germany, slept in the crook of a tree to stay out of the flood below me in Panama, crawled on my stomach in the middle of a sandstorm in Iraq, climbed more hills and mountains with a full pack, weapon and helmet than I care to remember, forded more rivers, rappelled down more cliffs, and defecated in more boonies than you'd believe. A Marriott with poolside service is as "back to nature" as I ever want to be... ever again.

No shortage yet but it’s getting pricey. The price of a bushel of corn one year ago was about $3.40. Today it’s around $5.60.

Oh, diesel fuel used to haul that feed and that turkey went from $2.20 last year to $3.50 this year.

Hopefully Fauxcahontas can figure it all out…. :)

Looks like you don't understand either as other than oil .. the supply chain issues and labor market have nothing to do with Biden Policy.

Tried to buy a few cans for the hairball, and the stores shelves looked like the aftermath of doomsday. Maybe 2 dozen of the cheapest kind, which I would not feed my cat for love nor money.

I will be breaking my own sworn promise, and actually make his food myself. He eats very well now, and it's going to get even better.

    Way Back in '16
    Elizabeth Warren appeared ,
    . .
Then she betrayed me as another
    Wall St. Democrat ala Hillary

Today she has little to say
to a Main St. Democrat vs a Wall St. Democrat

    eh?

Yes they do. When oil goes up, all goes up. That is the hard fact. Also Turkey still needs to be processed or butchered. The economic effects of the COVID shutdown (in large part pushed by democrats) slowed this supply chain down. When ever you shut down an area of the economy it always costs more to fire it back up. When machines are stopped they typically will oil them to preserve metal. Engines will have preservatives added in their oil and many other parts get treatment. When they sit they almost always have problems on the fire up. Meaning they’re spending money to get things going again.

second to that the demand after a slow down is always eased into rather than going to previous scales of production. This is due to the desire to not over spend on an unsure market. These shutdowns pushed by democrats and funded somewhat by both parties at the beginning but wrenched up by democrats this year slowed the work force return. Many didn’t go back to work yet by their own choice. In fact we have only got back half of what we lost in civilian labor participation rate since the pandemic began.

You can’t deny that democrat ran states opened slower and resisted opening for political gains. That was probably the single largest player next to oil. Oil also being caused by democrat policies.

I'm gonna have to know the color of these turkeys before I can comment.

Also why is dark meat rising in cost faster than white meat?

Spare me .. already mentioned oil and oil going up is not responsible for the global supply chain glut . Covid lockdowns - even if we didn't do them .. other nations did - this is global .. Biden is not the all knowing all controling master of the world .. doesn't control the weather.. you go to far ... and this destroys any validity of the other points you make.

The Pandemic is responsible for much of this .. no matter how one may have handled it - and you have the 20/20 hindsight problem (fallacy) "If you would have bet on 9 .. you would have won .. Any fool can fortell the past - keep that in mind .. with lockdowns your damned if you do .. damned if you don't.

Tell you what though .. these mandates -- there is an issue with some teeth - fricken lying propaganda clown show .. just obscene ..was not "CHINA" as you hear morons repeating on both sides of the media fence .. heard today again on Fox Was Fauci .. along with 20 other nations that were doing this kind of research .. all freaked out when Pandora got out of box .. unleashed a propaganda program on the globe .. the likes of which .. the world has never seen .. to cover backside.

    Step 1) deny deny deny
Step 2) Get all the public relations oligopolies in one room .. same message - didn't come from lab
Step 3) mitigate damage ... and cover up damage .. while making scads of cash on the side .. and to the delight of the Healthcare Oligopolies who have been dictating policy
Step 4) Mass disinformation effort -- demonize any who go against State Sponsored propaganda narrative.

and its still going on. All Africa .. didn't lock down .. had no vax .. doin just fine .. way lower death rate .. hmmm India .. same story .. whats going on here - Why the death rate so much higher in some select first world nations .. ? Don't know .. but sure would like to.

global supply chain glut is not oil based. I agree, however Biden attacked oil on day one. Pipe line cut offs to federal lands oil and gas permits were targeted by Biden. Killing jobs literally on day one along with our oil supply.

you’re also right that other nations participated in the lockdowns. I won’t deny this fact. However their lock downs did not effect our ports being clogged with cargo ships, Our COVID restrictions on the other hand did.

You’re right. I sincerely and honestly appreciate this comment. Cause you’re right. Politically your damned if you do and damned if you don’t. However economics isn’t as near sighted. Trump correctly stated that “we can not allow the cure to become the problem”. Sadly we did.

I think I may be able to agree with you on this other than liberals strongly pushed the problem. Trump really may not have been much better because he likewise was pushing for more spending. Unfortunately we have seen where this spending gets us. It’s completely moronic wether it comes from a republican or democrat. But you would have never seen a true conservative advocate for this.
