Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., on Tuesday released the full transcript from Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson's testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

"The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice," Feinstein said in a statement. "The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public."

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Tuesday released the transcript of congressional investigators' interview in August 2017 with Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson, whose firm was behind a controversial dossier alleging ties between President Donald Trump and Russians.

Simpson had called for the transcript of his appearance to be made public, but Republican leaders so far had not agreed to release it.

"The American people deserve the opportunity to see what he said and judge for themselves,” Feinstein said in a statement. “The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice. The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public.”

Fusion GPS founder told Senate investigators the FBI had a source in Trumps network

The British ex-spy who authored a dossier of allegations against then-presidential candidate Donald Trump was told the FBI had someone inside Trump’s network providing agents with information, according to a newly released transcript of a congressional interview.

Glenn R. Simpson, founder of the research firm Fusion GPS, spoke to investigators with the Senate Judiciary Committee for 10 hours in August. As the partisan fight over Russian interference in the 2016 election has intensified, Simpson has urged that his testimony be released, and a copy of the transcript was made public Tuesday.

“My understanding was that they believed Chris at this point — that they believed Chris might be credible because they had other intelligence that indicated the same thing and one of those pieces of intelligence was a human source from inside the Trump organization,” Simpson said. Using the parlance of spies and law enforcement officials, Simpson said the FBI had a “walk-in’’ whistleblower from someone in Trump’s organization.

FBI had a "walk-in whistleblower" inside Trump's network during collusion.

It's gonna rain indictments all week in DC. [IMG]

I myself will look over it, and I will be the judge. For now, what we know already is that Feinstein released this information without the go-ahead from the committee. So if we raise a Nunes, we now raise a Feinstein for improper action. But at least this actually releases information. I'll give more analysis as I complete the reading.

Yea, it is extremely daunting to digest. Here are some highlights according to this cnbc article.

Here are some of the highlights:

    • Simpson touched on how the Trump Organization handles paying taxes: "One of the things we found out was that, you know, when it comes to paying taxes, Donald Trump claims to not have much stuff. At least the Trump organization. So they would make filings with various state and local authorities saying that their buildings weren't worth much."
    • Simpson discussed Trump's relationship with Felix Sater: "This was something he didn't want to talk about and testified under oath he wouldn't know Felix if he ran into him in the street. That was not true. He knew him well and, in fact, continued to associate with him long after he learned of Felix's organized crime ties. So, you know, that tells you something about somebody."
    • Fusion GPS did not secure full access to Trump's tax returns, Simpson said: "They were Trump properties and I believe we may have reviewed some public information about estate taxes and things like that. We didn't have access to his tax returns."
    • Simpson said he only become aware of the infamous Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer when it was reported in the New York Times: "I was stunned."
    • Simpson had no "factual reason to believe" the Trump Tower meeting was a Russian attempt to make contact with the Trump campaign, but: "You know, as a sort of question of counterintelligence and just general investigation of Russian methods and that sort of thing, I think that's a reasonable interpretation."
    • Fusion GPS concluded that Trump "exaggerated" his properties' worth in legal filings — but that did not indicate or show connections to Russia: "Not that I recall."
    • Simpson said Trump's golf clubs aren't making any money: "They were not profitable entities. I don't specifically recall. I just remember that these were not doing very well and that he'd sunk a lot of money into them and he hadn't gotten a lot of money back yet."

Nunes is a Trump lickspittle. He has disgraced his office and his role as a Committee Chairman.

I doubt that I would be the first person to point out that he does not work for Donald Trump. Too bad, he thinks he does.

Dianne Finstein did the honorable thing, and blew up an obvious attempt by the GOP to sit on this information.

Good job Feinstein. Was getting tired of all the drips and innuendos and accusations against Fusion. Just get the sworn testimony out into the public.

Actually this is VERY bad for the prosecution(I already know the name of the mole, Papa himself. Don't you find it odd that he was allowed to act even after being indicted? Yeah, he was the mole.) His activities, falsely incriminate the Trump campaign. You might think that's good news, but that's actually very very bad for conviction purposes. Without the mole, does the Trump campaign engage in that behavior? Probably not.

Use of moles has always been controversial, for this exact reason. In order to secure a conviction, Mueller will now need to prove that even without FBI interference there was still criminality.

It's not comfort zone. There's a way to engage and not engage in investigations. Moles are generally frowned upon, and if you're going to use a mole, less is more. The other likely possibility for the mole is Carter Page, the FBI informant we learned of months ago. If the FBI basically fabricated even a portion of evidence, conviction will be A LOT harder.

George Papadoulous or Carter Page were likely(based on open evidence) to be the moles referenced to. And in either case, if either of them acted on orders from the FBI to give the appearance of criminality, that hurts the prosecution(at least, in the grand mission to get to Trump.)

Yeah I saw it. And what did this source reveal, even though as others have indicated we have a good idea who it is.

There is still nothing here. Good info on the golf clubs though.

Can somebody answer this? Is THIS nothingburger information what prompted someone to issue a FISA warrant to spy on the campaign? I don't think so. What are we not being shown? Anyone?

That's the standard practice on that committee as run by the Republicans.

Grassley has taken action in the name of the committee without telling any of the Dem members of what he was about to do.

I'd also point out that there have been calls for release of the interview even from the guy who was interviewed. The Republicans have been leaking carefully limited excerpts from the interview as evidence.

Now their cover is blown, even YOU get to know what they are actually doing!!
