I have also read some of the actual texts such as the Gilgamesh epic and the Atra Hasis Text. I don't read too much into the "returning in 3600" year stuff.

What I do find fascinating however, is that if you were a Sumerian living 4000 years ago - your "how did I get here" story was as follows.

1) A race of extraterrestrials "Annunaki" came to earth to mine Gold - as they needed it to fix their atmosphere (how primitive people came up with this is strange in of it self but - this is what they believed)

2) the work was hard and the workers were unhappy. Enlil "Son of Anu the leader" brought the petitions of the workers before the assembly. Enki ( the other son of Anu - and a great Scientist) came up with a solution. The solution was to create a new worker drone - that drone being a hybrid being "annunaki and primative human" .

3) the text describes the process in some detail - earth (earthling) was mixed with blood of the Annunaki. 7 Annunaki women were selected for impregnation .. and so on.

Strange representations mirroring parts of this story - look remarkably like the Double Helix.



Don't want to make too much of these images - and there are numerous others - other than "things that make you go hmmm"

4) you believed that Enki's experiment was successful - in his lab which was called the E-DIN. The resulting hybrid was called "The Adamu"

5) Anu and most of the others leave - but a few Annunaki remain - Some of these Annunaki find some of the hybrid adamu females appealing and have sex with them - against the will of ANU. Anu returns and is upset and wants to wipe out the Adamu but other of the Annunaki intervene and the Adamu are spared.

In other stories - a great flood is sent to wipe out the humans - as the noise they make is offensive to some of the Annunaki.

The point here is not whether or not these stories have any basis in reality. The point - is that if you were a living in the Near East - aka cradle of civilization - 4000 years ago. This is what you believed - this was your creation story - the story of how humans were created.

WTF are people 4000 years ago doing with such beliefs. It is quite bizarre.

 

And he was found to have made it up unlike the navy. You cannot discern the difference? That is your problem. Get your processor checked.

As is some of the fiction of imagination today. Humans were just as intelligent back then but were not advanced in science and tech . Those things are accumulated over time.

I agree that some myths may have been created from events man didn't know what caused the event and ascribed it to the gods. Man has had many.different gods over the ages. In all cultures. The Jews look to have borrowed various myths like the flood that may have been based on a flood. Yet that does not mean the gods did it. Or ETs.

That's not what I said - albeit what you say is true. What I was discussing was the "grain of truth" in many of these Myths.

So where is the "grain of Truth" in these crazy stories - have you read some of this stuff ?

The Genesis account was adopted from near east mythology - the parallels are too many to count.

 

Perhaps you can show my post to a rational person. No one knows what it is, thus the U in UFO. Anything beyond that is nothing more than your imagination. It sounds like your belief in alien spacecraft is strong. As with religion, I am not trying to convince you otherwise. You may assign any identity to the flying tic tac you wish.

 

It's very unlikely that our gods were/are UFOs. If someone was trying to fool us that way they would at least have the gods do things that make sense.

 

Probably read much of it over the past 50 years. I never bought into the supernatural parts. Or things like the entwined snakes representing the double helix.The symbolism represented by ouroboros is an archetype though.. the snake devouring itself.

The myth of Atlantis may have a grain of truth given the melt of ice age sheets would cause sea rise submerging any civilization on coasts and deltas. Any civ. covered by those sheets would be ground up . Wiped clean by the wrath of god.

 

I don't believe in alien space craft. But the fact is high tech craft exist. Their origin is unknown..

I never said what you assume. The evidence for these craft exist. Who made them are unknown. A mystery. To the public.

I give more creds to trained fighter pilots than you. Along with their instruments used against our enemies.

You need to open mind a twitch .. and embrace the idea that we may have been visited - as ancient alien theorists suggest

or .. come up with some other explanation - such as that there was some rather interesting history going on a long long time ago .. back to 10,000 BC such as in Gobekli Tepei - sp and other sites they are digging up.

Sea level at this time was way lower - and so then - like now .. many cities would have been on the coast. Sea level has risen 100-200 meters since then.

We are now finding many of these submerged cities - these advanced societies gained knowledge to a point - technical aptitude in different areas of technology - somehow managed to do some very strange things - such as the stuff at Puma Punku in Puru - and build the pyramids.

This serves as a good alternate explanation - We just don't have writing like this prior to - Atrahassis and Gilgamesh being some of the oldest major literary works and anything coherent is around 2600 BC. .. not that we did not have writing prior to this ... Proto Elamite dates back to around 3300 BC - but it is scribbles not stories - tallies of number of cows and such ..

So this is the oldest major written language that we know of - and these are the stories they wrote about where they came from.

Oddly enough - when you go to other ancient traditions - that of China and India - you have similar stories - Likewise in South America - and so on.

Not talking the flood story here - its obvious why every culture has that for reasons explained above - but the - dudes showing up from the sky part...

Someone was sharing the same story across continents. My belief is that folks were building ships capable of making it to the new world much earlier than we are currently aware of. Then there was some major cataclysm and technological decline - like during the 1000 years of horror after Constantine gave the Universal Church the keys to the kingdom.

In Greek and Roman times they were building ships 60 oars long - and 3 deep - on both sides. - Shipbuilding technology was lost - not to be regained for 1000 years.

So with this alternate explanation in mind - there are still some very strange and interesting conundrums

Our ancestors had stone technology.

It took thousands of years to advance from horses to cars. If ETs were helping or guiding us they waited until the last 150 years to help us with modern tech.

We should give more credit to our species.

But no doubt technology vanished several times and that may go back farther than we think. I find it astounding that the finest projectile points were finer than later points. Like the finely made fluted Clovis points.

 

The Chilean helicopter had the most awesome IR footage. Chile's government is wide open about UFOs and has been for years.

They are real, and everybody in Chile knows it.

US citizens don't know about it, and don't want to know about it.

They are too wrapped up, too distracted, by the incessant propaganda delivered by their MSM.

 

The US govt has ridiculed this UFO deal since post ww2. As msm.. Even when the military knew they existed and were beyond our technology. Documents obtained early from FOIA proved that. Until they were censored.

Truth is they didn't want Americans to know these craft could enter our air space at will and we can't stop them. To date they seem benign except for showing our military they can shut down our nuke ICBMs at will.
