He is a traitor to this country . I would love to say : look at her hanging from that rope , but the Muslim Brotherhood lover set him free.

It is a fact that male and female surely is a biological dichotomy (XX and XY is how everyone is born), absolutely. However, masculinity and feminity is a much more complex issue both from a social perspective as well as from a biological one. This spectrum is far too broad to reduce it to being black and white.

Mostly it is about chemical development in the brain in the prenatal phase. "Transexuality", "gender confusion" or whatever you wish to call it is a biological reality and i would not say it is fair to label it as a mental illness.

Not a fair comparison at all. Strawman deluxe.

I agree that the ideological agenda being pushed is gross and rather orwellian, but there are actual people who really have a female brain but an XY-chromosome.

I prefer living my life minding my own business. I do not really what kind of sex people prefer or what they have between their legs. :)

You can be an extremely effeminate male, but you're still male.

If your brain cannot recognize the reality of your body, and it "feels" to you like you should have a vagina, then clearly the problem conflicts with reality and is located in the brain.

It's no different than people who think they're dogs, dragons, or rulers of the world.

I understand your position but I find this to more complicated than that. While I am not one to force others to live by my standards I do find their mindset to be unhealthy. There is too much focus on defining one identity through physical, biological traits, and dress/looks. Identity isnt so concrete. It is a process of values, principles, personality, and choices.

If one defines themself through such concrete means they will never feel like they can be who they are because we only have so much control of the physics of this world. The only way you can truly find yourself and be yourself is to define yourself by who you choose to be in spirit and mind because who you are in spirit and mind is the only thing you truly have control of in this world.

I have this fantasy that I'm a king. I want to be referred to as a king there for you refer to me as your majesty and I will be highly offended if you don't so now you have to refer to me as your majesty

I read a story a few months ago where a college student did exactly that, it was pretty hilarious.

Here it is, it's a good laugh.

It is all fun and games when speculating behind a computer screen, but ask yourselves...what would you call Jenner or Mannings to their faces? That is what counts. My motto is Luke 6:31, or the "golden rules" as it were. "how may I address you" or "may I call you..." is always a good start. Right?
No matter what you think of the other person, it is still a person.

Are you ok when they want to sue you for guessing wrong when the person you're looking at has breasts and a beard?

It's not about being insensitive, it's about trying to figure out what in the world you're looking at.

As for your examples, I'd use their full legal name or "you".

I don't find bigoted mocking spawned in ignorance to be "hilarious" but to each their own.

That being said., I think there is a difference between gender dysphoria, a medially recognized and treatable condition, and going around acting like a jackass mocking those afflicted with gender dysphoria, which is what the bigoted (*)(*)(*)(*)wit in your article seems to be doing.

How do you know he doesn't have authority dysphoria?

Why are you insensitive to this man's affliction?

No matter how you cut it, a list of 30+ gender pronouns is ridiculous.

If a gender-confused person wants to use the ladies room, that is his business. If my wife or daughter is in that ladies room at the same time, that is MY business.

You don't understand the need to use precise language effectively? You don't understand that when the meanings associated with the words we use break down, that we run the risk of unraveling foundational truths? Some might consider that progress; I don't.

No. The term 'he-she' is already used for those who have both a penis and a vagina. (I suppose those folks take exception to the use of the pronoun "it"...).

Me neither. That's a policy I wholly expect to adhere to.

Well yes, unless the dog says they'd prefer to be called a duck, at which point you become obligated to call the dog a duck. And it has recently been determined that "woof" means "duck". So it's clear what needs to happen...

Absolutely correct. This has slipped into insanity. The fact that I'm even writing about this feels a bit like a bad Twilight Zone episode.

Science is a bit inconvenient sometimes, no?

Well yeah. There will always be those people who wish to change their name to "God". News flash: doesn't make them God...

I don't believe in the corollary to the golden rule which says "buy into whatever idiotic idea other people have so their feelings aren't hurt, just as they don't hurt your feelings", especially since idiotic ideas hurt my feelings.

Sorry, but in my world, breasts and a beard qualify for the use of "it". Full stop. Drop the mic.

Thank-you! That's my positions as well.

Now, what sparked this thread was Obama pardoning Chelsea Manning. On the news they referred to the Pvt. Manning as a she. It made me wonder if Manning had surgery to remove his male organ.

But, don't get sidetracked, this is not a Manning thread.

My only other input is why so few votes? The poll is private, no one will know how you voted. Have your say.

Then we can agree that the words "he" and "she" aren't really gender discriminators.

So, why get upset if Ann Coulter wants to be called "she?"

Genetically the "dude" is still male so....Kind of a stupid response to a simple question.

    How are you harmed.

I agree, it is still a person. Therefore, "It" works just fine if someone wants to be addressed as a male when they have a vagina or as a female when they have a penis. I'm not going to sugar coat anything, I'm not Willie Wonka.

What's a few more revisions to the DSM? We did it for the gender warriors, why not the dragons and kings of the world.

    Exactly!!

I've discussed this stuff online for over a decade now. I have no more tolerance for 'intolerance' and certainly not for ignorance due to being willfully and intellectually negligent (conscientious stupidity). It is TIME for people to LEARN!!
