Nobody pays 35% after deductions etc... He is either lying or not telling the whole truth. Either way it is a lie.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I pay 35% and have for at least 10 years.

Your evidence? Of course, you have none.

If your income is very high, and all ordinary income, you don't get to take many deductions.

Happened to me in the past.

Your automatic assumption that he is lying (because he is a Republican) is just an example of your unthinking bias.

    Sad.

It is not "progressives" that constantly whine about the government taking too much from them in taxes.

Other than unsubstantiated charges, none of which have even been serious enough for the Republican fruit loops to be able to contemplate any legal charges what would possibly lead you to consider her career disasterous. Oh wait, you mean disasterous for Republicans!

Then you are in the same boat as him and need to hire a new accountant and stop filing the EZ short form.

    http://taxfoundation.org/article/what-do-americans-really-pay-income-taxes

The tax code is set up for the rich and well off. This myth that the richest Americans pay 36% or more in income taxes, is just that, a terrible misleading lie. If you want to pretend otherwise, that is you just lying to yourself.

Even if we are actually talking about every single possible tax, including communication, hunting/fishing/drivers licenses, gas, tobacco, liquor, highway, public library, corporate taxes (since consumers pay these fees) school/property taxes (in the case you are some sort of real estate mogul), state taxes in the worst over taxed states (Jeb lives in Florida, and is originally from Texas, neither of which has a state tax so we can just drop that foolishness too), Etc... etc...NOBODY pays more than 30-40% in the worst case scenarios possible. Again, on average even including every possible tax, the overall rate (with state tax included, would be closer to 30% than 40%.

He's a liar, because he is a liar, don't care what political affiliation he carries as a monicker. The average tax rate for the richest Americans is at or about 23%, and many of those Americans pay 0%, because the tax code was/is designed, implemented, and controlled by the best government corporate money can buy, AKA the richest Americans on the planet.

Some "progressives" constantly whine about certain people not "paying their fair share". Looks like Jeb believes in paying his fair share, considering his effective tax rate.

Mitt Romney didn't cheat on taxes. Even Harry Reid, the author of the tax cheat narrative, admitted he lied about the whole tax cheat affair but justified it because they won the election. Knowingly implying Mitt Romney cheated on his taxes, when the facts prove otherwise, says more about you and your character than it ever did about Mitt Romney.

Well, since you have decided you need to offer advise on my tax situation, I will return the favor. When you have no idea about someone else's situation, tax or otherwise, it's best to just keep your "opinion" to yourself, otherwise you just look foolish.

In the mean time you could use the same advice, and stop contributing to this foolish fantasy that someone is paying 36% or more of their total income in taxes, in a country where the tax code caters too the richest citizens.

Lol so let me get this straight. Instead of mounting a defense for someone you want to RUN THE FREE WORLD, your response is "You can't prove she's a dirty friggin crook, but I can't prove she's not...you just may not have enough to pursue charges".

Yea, Hillary should lead the free world because there MIGHT not be enough proof she's a crook.

I swear the left gets more and more ridiculous. Grow up. Let's elect someone who deserves it. On either side.

If it is true, and for the life of me I see no reasonable reason to believe it is, he is a rare breed considering the tax bracket he resides in.

This will be the last time I will try to help you with your ignorance, so use this opportunity to educate yourself.

You keep mentioning "Rich", by which you must mean how wealthy the person is. "Income" and "Wealth" are two completely different things. Think of it this way, I can have a high income without being "rich" and/or I can be "rich" with no income at all. Perhaps a better example would be that if I am "rich", I can stop working or producing income and not have a change in lifestyle. Therefore, no income, no taxes.

That has little to do with what the average income earner pays in taxes, which is what the topic is to begin with. Nobody pays the maximum taxable bracket unless they are deliberately filing the EZ form, they are a failure at doing their own taxes, or they have a swindler for an accountant.

Hire the right accountant and they can help you, that's all I'm saying.

Of course Hilly is the same kind of crook and disingenuous clown as those on the right but, what is the point of stating this if one then turns around and votes for the crooks on the right ?

The average rate has no bearing on what one individual paid. Most wealthy individuals have a lot of capital gains, and/or carried interest, or qualified dividends, all of which are taxed at lower rates than ordinary income. If one had millions in orndinary income and none of the above, it could get to 36%

Once again you have no evidence to support your slander.

I'm sure his returns will be gone over with a magnifying glass. Thanks in advance when you have done so.

...and as I have explained to you time and time again, if you are paying anywhere around 30% it would be because you live in a high percentage tax state. Bush lives in Florida which has no state taxes. Including every tax known to man, he couldn't possibly be paying more than 24-26% if he has a competent accountant doing his taxes, and living in a state that has 0 income taxes. I will concede this, if he is paying 36%, it is by choice not because that is the best deal he can get out of the current tax code.

Unfortunately we are not getting the whole story here. He could very well be filing initially at the maximum rate and later filing amendments with his actual deductions included, for political reasons. Who knows, but I assure you this is not the end of these bogus tax claims.

Sorry, wrong again. The top FEDERAL tax rate is over 39%. If I add in my State taxes(california), that adds an additional 11% to my 35% federal rate.

I own my home, (no mortage deduction), don't have kids, (no dependent deduction). Although my accountant has suggested a few shelters, I make a very decent living and my retirement is taken care of. I don't see the need to "get creative" and protect income from taxes as you suggest. Jeb Bush probably has the same attitude.

Romney cheated on his taxes regardless of what Reid says, and nobody has explained away either Mitt's offshore accounts or his tax amnesty (given to people who have cheated on their taxes but later make arrangements to repay their debt). I'm afraid it's pretty cut and dried, my friend. And I can't help it if Reid was in a benevolent mood after the election.

Most multi-national corporations take advantage of that loophole as well, Pfizer and others for instance shelter theirs in the Netherlands, and not only that but hedge funds by law have a much lower top rate than other businesses, 15%. They can hold profits and gains for a number of years overseas free of taxes. This is what money buys you from politicians.

Actually he is paying more than his fair share, I am not in favor of sliding scales based on income.

LOL....Jeb Bush will never be president. I am conservative with a lot of conservative friends. All voted for Romney even though many did not like him. everyone has agreed that when Jeb gets the nod we will all sit this election out and go fishing that day. I am in the South by the way in a conservative god loving area. I dont know a single person in my life that will vote for that trash. My wife wont either. This is in a battleground state by the way. Hillary takes it and she wins the presidency LOL. what a joke.
