Doctors are not at fault. . . . The AMA (a doctors' union; by no means a patients' advocacy group) and the medical hierarchy have fought relentlessly against regulation and to enhance the profitability of all components of American healthcare.

The GOP's incredible shrinking Trump®Care is getting so minimalist that what the Republican Senate, Republican House and Republican Executive end up actually passing as the much ballyhooed "immediate!" Republican "something terrific!" that covers "everybody!" replacement for the interminably-maligned Affordable Care Act could well be the 2010 reform, but with bunion removal for a guy named Bert in Youngstown, Ohio no longer covered.

They will hail it as a smashing victory for trumpery and hold a gala Trump®Catering soirée at a Trump®Hotel that will attract almost as many folks as Trump claims attended his debutante cotillion on the Washington Mall.

Meanwhile, the national association "America's Health Insurance Plans," has sent a letter to McConnell pointing out to him that what Republicans are attempting really stinks for Amercans:

Congress games the CBO analysis. Congress tells the CBO what the legislation is supposed to do and how it will work with regard to taxation, regulation, etc.

For example on obamacare, there is no way any organization could churn through the roughly 2,500 page bill (which referenced and modified many other regulations and laws) in a month and come up with a cost estimate and coverage estimate - except the writers of the obamacare legislation told the CBO how the legislation would be implemented & how it would work.

Essentially, Congress interprets the legislation for the CBO and that is what the CBO analyzes. That's why Harry Reid kept going back to the CBO, constantly tweaking the interpretation of the ACA until the CBO came up with results that Reid liked.

Its just a big scam to fool people. The CBO predictions of the ACA are all the proof that's needed to understand its all just propaganda.

You mean the Republicans should not do what the Democrats did with obamacare. I agree, Republicans should be thoughtful and not engage in a power grab just for the sake of grabbing power. But the first step is to undo the disaster that is obamacare, what the nation had before obamacare was far better than what the nation has today.

But as to getting Democrats input, forget it. The Democrats want obamacare squared, they want total govt control. Conservatives want less govt control. There is no compromise.

Republicans should freeze out the Democrats, the D's had their chance and blew it, they blatantly lied and showed they are untrustworthy, they intentionally created a disaster in hopes it would pave the way for a total takeover by the govt.

    Skinny Repeal went down.

Once again we see that the GOP can't govern even when they control everything.

I had to laugh when I read the article..why did you leave out 15 million wouldn't be buying health insurance? You know repeal the mandate and give people a choice that the left always clamor for?

And now McConnell is blaming the Democrats! LOL! They have the majority, McCain voted no, and he blames the Dems.

What a bunch of LOSERS! Will they come to the table and negotiate with Dems in good faith? At some point they need to admit that they can't govern.

Yes, that's my idea of choice and freedom. Because they STILL couldn't afford it, even being forced. The money was just being taken out of their pockets by Uncle Sam. Partially subsidized so that they could. This is a basic function of the ACA.

It's also fundamentally opposed to American civil liberties. People shouldn't have to spend money on something they can't afford, choosing between their health or their stomach(food). But that's what the benevolent Dems stuck us with.

The GOP attempt to dump the Obamacare train wreck with their own will hopefully cost them Congress. It's a sad state of affairs that the dems are even worse shape than the GOP is.

I fail to u nderstand how this has anything to do with my comment you quoted though.

    3% is a huge number in a 17T dollar a year industry.

Most Americans can now breath a sigh of temporary relief that they will not be penalized by politics by losing the stability of healthcare for themselves, their children, and their parents. Perhaps the insurance companies can also stop playing duck and cover finally...though I doubt the GOP is quite done yet. Eventually our politicians will learn their lessons from this fiasco and do their freakin' jobs, I just hope its relatively soon so they can do something else....like maybe protect our nation from nuclear destruction.

The ACA's risk corridors aren't in good shape, and the rising premiums are taking a chunk out of the Middle Class. It's clear we desperately need reform, it's also clear the GOP won't give us any.

The GOP and Trump are actively working to make the ACA fail rather than trying to repair it in order to make Americans change from supporting it to their own plan, which even their own members cannot support.

Because the BLOTUS hasn't named anyone for those positions. He is the bottleneck, not Congress.

Truth be told....there are very few people who are willing to risk their reputation or future only to be placed under the back tires of the Trump bus. There is a reason our government is primarily vacant in the executive branch.

    Agreed!

No one could pay me enough to have anything at all to do with the BLOTUS regime.

I can think of an amount I'd consider, but it's the living with myself that would get to me.

That is why I wouldn't take any amount at all. I have enough for my needs and I don't want that bilious turd on my conscience.

I didn't pay it so had no clue it was behind a pay wall. A simple search of your own will find the same article.

I just clicked the link, no pay wall.
