It's been almost two years since this game came out, and it's still a relevant title in the gaming industry to this day. I've logged 100+ hours into my character, and it's one of the most memorable times I've had in a virtual world. If you haven't played this game yet, you owe it to yourself just for the immersion alone.

My one and only character is a male Nord with a high level of destruction perks. I'm currently level 37, and I'm married to a beautiful Nord woman and we live together in Whiterun. I also have a net worth of 10,000+ gold. I'm a capitalist at heart. :)

I also fought with the Stormcloaks against the Imperials who tried to kill me in the beginning. I am now revered throughout the land for my heroic adventures. Now I'm finally starting to do Act II in the main quest to fulfill my character's destiny as the Dragonborn.

So there's a little background on my character.

Are you guys fans of this game, and if you are, tell a little about your adventures journeying the land of Skyrim?

Too bad , currently i am running a savage vampire female Breton ( my general rule for playing RPGs/Action Adventures all "good" characters are males all "evil" ones females ) , level is ~400 , she is master in conjuration and a renown necromancer ( hunted by Dawnguard and Vigilant patrols while friendly to undead and Necromancers) with sneaking and restoration as secondaries . Immune to most magic attacks but instantly dieing when facing the sun she is accompanied by two vampiric Vigilants. She has not done any quest and only comes out at night to raid caravans and cities for feeding and blood potions.
The party is based is at Fort Amor and often uses wild horses for travelling, her ambition is to one day complete Morvarth's dream and turn the entire population of Mothral into vampires.

Reman Quintilius, a level 41 Imperial Knight, born in the sign of the Lady, Knight of the Imperial Dragon, Master of the Fighter's Guild, Hortator of the Great Houses of Hlaalu, Redoran, and Telvanni, and bearer of many other prestigious titles. I have a personal wealth of 191K, and weapons and armors of ebony, glass, and daedric, and countless artifacts probably worth several fortunes. I am of course talking about my Morrowind character.

Speaking of morrowind, it's a game that I strongly reccomend to everyone that is interesting more in immersio, story, and detail rather than aestethics. Morrowind trumphs skyrim and oblivion combined by far in the former.

Judging from that little I played of the prequel "Elder Scrolls" games, back in the day - this is probably one of the most overrated and unimpressive games of all time. Just quantity over qualtity - no interesting characters, plot dialogue - mediocre combat, extremely generic 'quests/missions' recycled ad infintium just to make the game seem 'bigger' - with the only saving grace being the graphics.

If anyone wants a truly immerse game, they should play a game like STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, or one of the Metal Gear Solid series.

The Elder Scrolls series as a whole is one of the most overrated and disappointing franchises in the history of video games (along with the Grand Theft Auto = aka SimMobster series). I haven't played Skyrim, but having played the other games in the series, I can say with certainty I do not want to, and they haven't given me any reason to want to, unless it's a 100% complete overhaul.

I played that game for about 30 minutes, got bored, and uninstalled it. I'm not hugely into RPG games, but from what I can see the Elder Scrolls games are some of the most shallow and uninteresting RPG games out there, which is the only thing that makes RPGs enjoyable in the first place.

Honestly the games aren't the worst games in existence if you're into that type of game, but they're very generic - my main gripe is how overrated they are. The basically just 'pay' for good reviews, because they're from a big name publisher, which is also a major sponsor of most of the review sites.

Okay, so you admit that you've only played it for half an hour and you're ready to judge it anyways? Morrowind is the opposite to being shallow and uninteresting. The level of detail and work they have put in to makiing a whole new ficitonal world is staggering, as is the background story. Perhaps you are the kind of player that want fancy graphics and only care about having kewl combat things or whatever, but I care for realism and detail and morrowind is full of it.

Talk to everyone about everything, read every book, explore every cave, every dungeon, do every quest, and you will find that they have put great effort into creating a world that is very coherent, interesting and unique. Look at the alien environment, the funny names, the clothes, the liquor, the architecture, the animals, and you will see that it differs much from classic rpg set in medieval europe because they have truly created their own world. gah-julan, sujamma, daedra, sadrith mora, dagoth ur, vivec, sotha sil etc. As an amateur lingust I find it very interesting.

I must say that you have no idea what you are missing and no idea how wrong you are when you say it's shallow.

Actually I'd prefer this to Morrowind or Oblivion:

It's not about "latest gen graphics, etc" - it's about combat and gameplay which is actually fun and well done. The gameplay in the Elder Scrolls games that I've played is extremely dumbed down and just about 'levels' and repetition, not actual skill.

If it was about graphics then I'd love Oblivion, because pretty much the only thing it had going for it was the great graphics.

That's interesting, Oblivion sure wasn't like that and I played a lot more of that one than I did Morrowind. Still if the core gameplay isn't interesting to me I wouldn't be motivated to play through it just to read all of the trivia.

TES, or atleast morrowind, isn't in my view primarily a fighting game. It is was, I must agree with you that it fails epicly. It's first and foremost a role playing game, and at that it succeeds. Morrowind is about experiencing the world that they have created, noticing every little detail they've put into it. The mediocre fighting is just there to help with that.

Also, Oblivion isn't anywhere near Morrowind. Oblivion is a total failure except for the improved graphics and enginge and soundtrack. You have to believe me when I say that oblivion has somehwere around 1% of the detail morrowind has. Id est, you don't get a good view of what morrowind is like by playing oblivion.

iv settled on using bretins or is it Bretons? wanted to be a mage starting out and its work able one you figure out how to reduce spell cost to nothing but magic is more cool then practical at least the destruction school these days I focus on maxing alchemy and enchanting and smiting you can get some rely game braking damage out of it though not invulnerability as the defense value of amour is caped

can make your self right sneaky to

I guess with dragon born put you can just get every peck in the game

I side with the imperials nord supremacy is a turn off and their just dividing the thalmores enemy's

you would think killing those elves every chance you get would make it hard to work for the empire or in the legion but no

I tend to kill the assassins guild not wild about the thieves guild since nocturnal gets your soul though its interesting to think about what would happen if your the head of the thieves guild and keep the werewolf form that binds you to hircine that you get from the companions

dose any 1 else like to take some of the nastier artifacts in the game and destroy them by dropping them inside of azuras star?

I just recently created a second character because I'm starting to get a little bored with my first.

This character is a female Nord, and she's strong and sexy. I haven't figured out what I want to do with her differently in the game compared to my main character, but I want to add a little more imagination to her personality and create a background story to explain why she's in Skyrim.
