Thanks guys. The interviewer was pretty unreadable, a no nonsense kind of guy, but then he mentioned that he appreciated a sense of humor and sarcasm.

He had his intern in there helping him with the interview, so it was good that when I first met the intern (before knowing he was going to be in on the interview) I chatted with him for a bit and complimented him on his law school.
    I'm a suck up

SMW: You will be pleased to hear that I wore panty hose, haha

Interviews are the ideal time to be a suck up! Yep, bet the panty hose will do the trick. Unless you're the FLOTUS, it's an important sign of attention to details. ;)

It wasn't just my big butted friends that wanted to see the inside of your bar. These gals also have a hankering to get inside.

We won 28-13! Only took a few photos, though.

The streets of Cardiff before the game:

Slightly out of focus me, inside the stadium (I was doing the driving, she was doing the drinking, as evidenced by this photo!):

Designated drivers are good things. You look like you are feeling no pain, well not yet anyway...

I usually prefer to drive, partly because I get hideously ill on modern public transport (which tends to be heated and sealed - not a good combination for those of us who suffer from travel/motion sickness!), but partly because it's just less hassle than the alternative. We went up by car - there's an excellent 'Park and Ride' service operated for matches from a big car park mile or two from the stadium (otherwise parking would be a problem - the stadium is right in the centre of the city). We met the rest (OH's family) up there - they decided to go by train, and good luck to 'em! Waiting for hours at the station, with a large percentage of the 70,000 strong crowd, to catch a hot and crowded post-match train doesn't seem worth it to me just for those extra couple of pints! I prefer to drive, and either have another beer when I get home or go to a local pub I can walk back from (I didn't do either this time - we picked up a curry on the way back, and I was too full to drink anymore, which is why I'm capable of posting here this evening!).

Great pics, cenydd! Thx for sharing! Not exactly a Dallas Cowboys game, but looks like great fun!!! Go team!!

Felt a little under the weather all morning... think the heat's getting to me. But I forced myself to go with dad to his friend's 50th wedding anniversary celebration and very glad I went. Whatta great occasion. Prob 250 people there (local hotel ballroom)... all his golf buddies and her sorority sisters. One of which is my ex s-i-l and I'd forgotten that fact until I saw her walk in! Some of the other s-sisters who've known me since I was a kid came over to give me a hug and everyone one of them said they felt like they were hugging my sweet brother. Made me cry.

Then the 'bride's' daddy (90) got up to talk and told us about 1942 when he first learned his wife was pregnant with his baby girl... and got his draft notice all in the same day. He was able to stay home until she was born on Dec 20... and shipped out on Dec 23. Didn't see her again for 4 years and when he did, she called him by his name instead of daddy. Said it took him 6 months to teach her and she hugged him and said he's been her daddy ever since. Not a dry eye in the house.

The bride is very involved in a senior ladies' dance group, too... and some of them performed for us. Tap danced to Rock Around the Clock & Johnny B-Good. It was awesome!

How nice to have something so wonderful to celebrate. Think I'm feeling better just for having had the experience. ;)

Not sure about ballgames. Sound like a lot of trouble just to watch someone throw or kick a ball around.
    That's what TV is for.

I don't know, OT, I'm thinking there should be a law against killing these magnificent guys.
After the great plains slaughters, we owe them a break.
Besides the park is down over 200 animals this year.

funny story: the couple right up the road have a really nice bison bull. I guess he got tired of the heat this summer. He disappeared out of his paddock a few weeks back. Took them days to find him. (I say he was smelling the last of the water in the creek that runs in that area and headed down for a dip...but idk).

My high school mascot was the Bison, so I've always had a fond place in my heart for the wooly creatures! Steak house near my office sells bison burgers, but I always go for the beef. Who could eat their HS mascot???

They raise them now, just like cattle. Let the wild ones roam.

Kinda like living in Africa and eating Elephant. It just seems wrong.
Though I've heard the meat is quite good when cooked properly.

Speaking of lobsters, did y'all see this one?

They estimate that it is 75yo. Since they didn't have a pot big enough to cook it, they donated it to the city aquarium instead. Lucky for him.
