With Pelosi now asking the Repubs for help today (you know, those extorionists, Govt killers, etc. nasty GOP'rs) & after giving them the middle finger all during the ACA Bill creation process, I have to 'honor' <cough, hack> them by to flying 'their' flag:

Nonsense, it's not like I've never left the state. Did a little fly fishing in CO and OR, too. But for eatin purposes, nothing beats a freshly caught redfish right outta the gulf. Mmmm, tasty.

No catfish for me. Had some once that tasted like a mouthful of mud. Cured me.

I think theres a difference between snapper and redfish. But I could be dreaming that fact.

You're talking 'cow tank' catfish---or up north called Bullheads. Green with yellow bellies, and mostly 'head.'

Channel Cats are often blue backed, silvery sides, live & feed n fresh water, and provide big, nice fillets!

But my favorite is still Crappie (i.e. White Perch)--caught some 4 lb-rs in E. TX!

Yeah, seems the capitalist bought into cheaper cars from Japan and our government allowed the foreigners to put our plants out of business and and our workers out of work, and our consumers in their car-seats. We did ourselves in. There were some disasters like the Edsel. What is a shame is so many of those cars, and probably 70-80% of them are gone, crushed. Hollywood run thousands of the oldest cars off cliffs & stuff for their movies. I think there would be a market for the oldies, but at what cost. Like a nice 32 chopped roof ford in candy apple red. Big block breathing flame. I was happy see Chevy & Ford introduce the old body lines. I like these new aluminum high HP motors, look good. But I miss that ground shaking under a big block. Now days all you hear is the car speakers booming away inside the capsule of metal & tinted glass.

I think my merc was a 312cu, not 348. Chevy had the 348. And punched out to the 454cu, is what I had in my 72 vette. I had the 348cu in my 68 vette. They also had the 427 and 409. Anyway, big blocks and those days are gone.

What ruined big, beautiful American cars was the oil crisis of 1973. Altho my very 1st brand new car was a 73 Chevelle (350 ci, 4-bbl, dual exhaust) with an AIR PUMP! Took away about 15 hp and was not the muscle car my 67 Camaro (327 ci, 4-bbl, dual exh.) was that I traded in for it......

Yeah, think my dad's 55 Merc was a 312 also..

Hmm, I wouldn't eat a ---------------- that has been in that Gulf water, even she paid me to. I see some of those Florida people died from eating oysters out of there, or just walking in the salt water. That eco-system is screwed.

Way up in North-eastern Oregon is a river I used to fish with my grand dad. Sherman Camp, just off the Snake river. Nice trout.

I wanted that Chevelle Malibu so bad and my dad wouldn't sign for it, so I paid cash for the Merc instead. I also had a love affair for that 56 Ford pickup with the big front fenders. Wish I could find those Merc pics. I tore the front grill & bumper off, painted the front in black, and was running 14 inch M&M slicks on the back. I made me a set of those Axel bars, had dump tubes for the exhaust which cost me a lot of loud pipe tickets, and overall a few speeding tickets. It was that ol Merc that got me run out of Phoenix. LMAO!

Had an uncle in road construction who always wore the green work clothes and drove a dark green (matched his work clothes) 55 Ford P/U---he was the coolest adult I knew growing up, a life-long bachelor but always had $$$!

If I had my choice of restored cars My favorite is still the 1970 Chevelle SS 454
