My buddy cracks me up. He was quite the lady's man before he got married. When I started to venture out, he gave me a lot of tips as well as motivation. We talked constantly and he was there pushing every step of the way as I saw one woman, then another, then another... 10, 20, then 30 women... 119 coffee dates... And early on he heard it all when it came to Number One. He listened as I agonized one day and was on top of the world, bouncing off the walls the next. And while he comes off as a real hard ass, he totally related to my state of mind and being hopelessly, completely, and madly in love. He watched me hit bottom when she left, bounce back, and move on to see 24 other women and finally find another sb who captured my heart.

Now he often comments that if he ever gets divorced, I will have to give him lessons. I swear to god there is even a bit of hero worship in there. He has actually said I'm his hero. It's funny because on one hand, part of me is aware of how it looks from the outside - lots of hot women coming and going. But for me it is certainly a double-edge sword. Don't get me wrong. It has been the adventure of a lifetime. At this point it is how I define my life. But it has also been an often painful, embarrassing, exasperating, and terribly expensive process. You experience a lot of rejection and get scammed and lied to a lot. It is a constant battle to stay ahead of my age, stay in shape, keep the place immaculate, and try to figure out how to captivate a beautiful young woman.

I guess the lesson is that one man's hero is just a guy getting his ass kicked half the time.

 

So yesterday became my Monday when I got called-in for a new graveyard shift.

Woke up afterwards at high noon.

For breakfast then:

- bacon and eggs

- grapefruit juice.

For breakfast at 0700AM after yet another long 12 hour graveyard shift:

- 1 soft boiled egg

- bacon

- red plum wine.

I don't normally have booze for breakfast but this is also my dinner before I go to bed to sleep for at least 6 to 7 hours before my next shift.

 

I have already been to church once this year and not due again until Xmas eve.

 

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies. Hope the rugrats come thru for you today.
