Yeah about the sugar in cold tea... that's why most restaurants here have gone to sweet or un-sweet tea. I remember Kimi's lesson now. Glad you do, too. There might be a chicken & dumplin dinner in your future after all. LMAO

Sweet milk means not buttermilk. And Lipton makes a cold brew tea that's not bad...

I'm sippin on a Snapple's Southern Sweet Tea right now. Got those up there in Yankeeland?

Oh hell Smartie, I can already hear the confusion ensue... the box only states "glass size," it doesn't specify which glass... water, milk, big whiskey, little whiskey.......

What do you mean ensue... it never went away from the water glass incident. I'm no hick, *koff* I know what a water glass is in a formal dinner sitting. But if I told somebody here to give me a drink in a water glass, they'd look at me like I was crazy. It's like, any glass can hold water, dude. :psychoitc:

Starbucks has an awesome summer drink with either lime or hibiscus mixed with green coffee, it is wonderful! You should try them. It is a very refreshing summer pick me up. The temps will be climbing to the 100s again, love summer!:sun:

No sun tea! It breeds bacteria. The water doesnt heat up hot enough.
Im serious. I read that a long time ago. I use to make it but stopped.

I have to laugh about the buttermilk. Buttermilk sounded so good. I bought some a long time ago for a recipe. I figured buttermilk has to taste good. Put some in a glass and almost puked. lol Buttermilk is not a good name for gross sour milk.

    How you doing, Smokey?

Hi Catcat! I've missed you for a while. Good to see you posting again.

It's really, really good! Although, I usually find it a bit more toasted/browned, that what is in the picture.

I honestly could eat tons of it with good evvo drizzled on it. YUM!

    Hi Bud!! *hug*

I'd never read/heard of the bacteria issue. Makes sense though.

I too have made lots of it, no ill affects. But haven't for a while, so I'm good. :p

I agree about the buttermilk. It's okay to cook with, but god almighty... I don't know how anyone can drink it.

My Mom could drink a gallon of it, well maybe not a gallon, but she loved the stuff. ewwwwwwww gag

Hope you and crew have a safe, fun long weekend. ;)

Yeah Kimi was explaining chicken and dumplins. It like chicken soup with dough balls in it. Course better than that but thats how I remember it. I ever come down south I wanna try it all. Bring it on and take me to the joint that cooks tripe! I love tripe.

Ive never seen that cold brewed tea. Ill have to check it out. We have Snapple but Ive never seen Southern Sweet Tea. If I buy iced tea already mixed its some organic stuff with no sugar or some other organic stuff with honey and lemon. I stopped drinking it because I switched to iced coffee and water. I do two pots of coffee. One 12 cup we kill before we leave the house and one 6 cup for iced coffee. lol If I dont finish it I put it in empty Poland Spring bottles all ready to go cold the next day. I like iced coffee better than tea. I just wish I could do it without sugar. I cant.

You know what seriously is the best. Italian lemon ice. No kidding if I could ship it to you I would. Its so light and refreshing. If I lived down south Id open a shop with it. You ever see those trucks you can rent for parties that make pizza? They have a brick oven right in the truck. You walk up and order what you want and they make it. lol You have that down there yet?

I like it too! And lemon gelato and sorbet. lol

Some here may not know, but lemons (limone) are a huge crop in italy, especially in the south.

Lemon preserves, jelly, in bread... everything.

When you make your pilgrimage, you will see lemons as large as softballs grown there (odd shapes too). Easily the size of grapefruit, seriously. And not as bitter/sour as the lemons here.

    Mexican rolls... bolillo's

Lots of Mexican bakeries around here... but I'm not a big fan. Esp this Mexican sweet bread which looks wayyyy different than it tastes. It's really not sweet at all. Weird.

    Now I'm hungry.

It's really pretty, but looks white to me.

    :bucktooth:

    Okay, okay, I know.

What is really pretty is ring around the moon. Only have seen it a few times.

Strangest thing to me about buttermilk is that I love, love, love how it smells, but trying to drink it?
Nope, nope, nope. Not gonna happen!

Anybody here ever heard of "egg a la golden rod"
I googled it years ago and actually found a recipe for it!
My mama used to make it years ago and if memory serves, it calls for gravy. (Gravy, falena, NOT tomatoes)

One of my favorite, ever, breakfasts as a kid. :hungry:

Buttermilk...I love, love, love how it smells, but trying to drink it?

GAWD! The smell (to me), is worse than the taste.

    ... you're tougher than I am! *smile*

And here I thought it was just Dad being unromantic about the blue moon. When I made my reg 8 pm call to say goodnight, I asked if he was goin outside and look and he snapped, "No! It's the same color it's always been! I'm not going outside... the door's locked and the porch light is on!"

    Well, excuuuuuuuuuse me! :b0x0rz:

    (pic's beautiful, Ange. Thx!) ;)
