Evan Gershkovich, the American citizen and Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reporter kidnapped by Vladimir Putin’s regime in Russia in March 2023, marked one year in captivity on Friday, March 29.

Gershkovich was arrested in Yekaterinburg on highly dubious espionage charges last year and has been held without trial or evidence presented against him ever since. Russian courts have rejected a string of appeals from Gershkovich’s legal team against his unlawful imprisonment.

Biden his priorities. The basketball player was a left winger and "a woman of color." Evan Gershkovich is a white, Jewish person who works for The Wall Street Journal. which is not in Biden's hip pocket.

Biden is as old as dirt. He comes from a time that believes women and children first like the Titanic sinking. Old people called it chivalry. When the basketball player got arrested Biden & Co took to the media demanding her release, WH reporters asked questions about it, the State Dept chimed in and the story was in the news a lot.

There has been no updates about Gershkovich by Biden, KJP or the State Dept. Surely, if anyone was working on it, Biden would want us to know about it, especially in an election year.

Also, while being held in Russia, Biden personally spoke to Grinder's wife and then invited her to the White House after her release. Biden spoke a lot about Grinder and I haven't heard him mention Gershkovich's name yet.

 

Looking at the cases of Grinder and Evan Gershkovich, who got more press coverage and who did Biden speak more about? I did the search you requested, and the WH put out a short statement today, emphasis on short. Biden had more to say about George Floyd than Gershkovich or the murdered NYC cop and guess what they both have in common? And of course, I'm sure you don't believe that Biden wrote that statement himself, he probably doesn't even know he made it.

I think you would admit the Griner coverage by the media, statements by Biden and questions to the WH press secretary overwhelmingly favored Griner and not Evan.

 

I don't keep score of these things. The fact that you thought Biden hasn't mentioned Evan tells me you're only interested in being hyper-partisan. Enjoy.

 

When Biden ran for office he promised me he would unite and heal the country. But have you noticed that during the few times he speaks he doesn't say how he's going to help people like me. Instead, he talks about how he's going to help POC, illegals, LGB and trannies. When it came to getting an American out of Russia, who did he help? The LGB POC.

 

I don’t keep track of who Biden talks about helping, mainly because I don’t need or rely on help from any president like you obviously do.

Like I said, Biden constantly talks about helping specific people yet he never talks about helping people like me. When I say people like me, I’m talking about straight white men. For some reason he always leaves that group out.

That's a theory, but the truth is Russia will hold hostages for money and political advantage and come up whatever phoney charges might look reasonable. To say Griner, with her history of anti-government statements, was "a spy" would have been a stretch. "Pot head" was an easier label for the gullible to accept.

 

It isn't up to Biden, it's up to Putin. Biden was quickly able to make a deal (a bad one, imo) for Griner's release, due to the nature of her "crime." Gershkovich was charged with espionage. Putin is not as willing to let him go.
