That is a (*)(*)(*)(*) poor excuse for slashing security in a zone as dangerous as Libya. Don't you think they could cut corners by reducing the staff in Curacao, Canada and Japan? How about buying Folgers instead of Peet's French Roast? The most important job as President is to protect the citizenry. Regardless of whether that is an ambassador, book store employee, homeless person or someone you might disagree with.

Liberals only call for bipartisanship when they don't have the majority. Otherwise, it's hit the road or get in the back of the bus.

Oh the rhetoric. Both the Republicans and the Democrats are just as guilty of this. The Republicans are no fallen angels here and neither is Obama.

The election is over- its time for both sides to act like grown ups and get things done. They aren't running for election right now so they should be able actually talk civilly to each other.

I am looking for real effort from the House, the Senate and the President. If they can't prevent the fiscal cliff- they are all to blame.

Come on fish! FOUR death in thousands of embassy staff in how many years? is not exactly a "war against the US!" In fact, although it is terribly sad for their family, they could have died just as easily in a base right here in America, or going to a movie theatre in Colorado, or going to see Senator Gifford in Arizona a couple of years ago!

These men didn't think they were being paid the BIG $'s in a foreign country to open a beauty salon! There are RISKS involved in hiring yourself out as a mercenary!

It is very sad. . .and that's it!

I didn't see you blame George Bush for not "protecting citizenry" restaurant workers, bureaucrats, janitors, and beauty salon staff IN OUR OWN COUNTRY when we were attacked on 9/11/11?

On the contrary. . everyone, Democrats and Republicans, and Independents, and Liberterians, EVERYONE gathered around GWB in SPITE of the fact that his election as President had been . . .less than kosher!

So. . .those 3000 + people were less the President's "most important job" than the 2 mercenaries and the 2 embassy staff that were killed abroad?

    Exactly.

Not to say that we shouldn't find out everything about the attack- and learn from it. But the political posturing right now just seems petty compared to what happened after 9/11.

Yes. There is still that little matter of a virtually unprotected US consulate in Benghazi and the administration's utter inaction followed by serious stonewalling. What did Obama know, and when did he know it?

    Not quite!

I'd say it's the person that wants to insulate partisan favorites from the consequences of their egregious negligence and criminal inaction that has true contempt for democracy and our long held belief that no one is above accountability.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you what would happen to a republican president who declined to increase security for one of our diplomatic missions after it's requested many times over and as a result, lost our mission, sensitive intelligence therein and personnel caught in the middle of an attack. You would doubtlessly scream along with the rest of them.

Scandal or not, impeachment will not come into play. I'll be surprised if F&F even becomes a "scandal" in the American conversation. The media in mass will not go there no matter what comes to light. They've already proven their unwillingness to seriously question Obama and doing so now would only expose their own totally unethical past reporting. Make no mistake, the media will only become more openly progressive in their reporting over the next 4 years. Reality is, Obama won & they won. The only real question is what to do about it, because placing any hope things will be dealt with honestly just went out the window.

The House should immediately move to impeach Obama for F & F and Benghazi. Obama only won because the ignorant masses only watched the MSM and wanted their handouts.

They had enough in the budget to have 30 Marines providing security at the embassy in Barbados at the exact time of the Benghazi attack.

Agreed. Libya was not on the ballot, it is not in the hands of the American voter. It is now in the hands of Congress. We need Congressional Hearings.

The founding fathers had contempt for democracy too, which is why they designed this to be a constitutional representative republic.

I'm going to echo what has been said previously, stop the bull(*)(*)(*)(*). This country is on its knees, we can't waste time on this crap. Maybe Americans will for once stand together and tell the people who make the laws and policy to do their jobs and fix the problems we have. I don't see that happening though. 4 more years of wasted opportunities.

Impeachment isn't really even an option anyway. You'll need 2/3 majority of the Senate to throw the president out of office. Worst republicans can do is pass a formal impeachment allegation. But all that would do is get thrown out by the Senate and the house republicans will once again look like asses.

It's the same thing that happened to Bill Clinton, hence why he was able to serve the remainder of his term. Though in this case there is even less of a reason for impeachment.
