I don't agree with 'testing in courts.' So long as SNL is not receiving any public assistance, they can portray whoever they want however they want. Its a travesty that some folks think they're portrayal is ever honest or accurate, but not the sort of travesty that should be addressed authoritatively. If the market enjoys shameless smearing and bias, so be it.
Other presidents generally got less than Trump gets, but I believe it's somewhere in the bible (or the Farmers Almanac) - We reap what we sow I certainly wouldn't expect NBC to start pulling punches now...
So Donald should bring them to court for being unfunny? You better tell your buddy Dennis Miller to lawyer up.
Amazing how all the Trumpkins agree that SNL has been over for years, but it is ironic, SNL still seems to get high ratings, is still is a tradition on Saturday night, and continues to launch the careers of successful writers and comedians Truth more likely is that most Trumpkins don't stay up that late on Saturday night and the last time they actually watched a couple episodes was decades ago
Not true, Trump has created an industry around humiliating himself, you can't be the center figure in America and continuous get caught in lies and fabrications without catching attention
This is the detail most people are unhappy about. The skits aren't aimed at being funny any more, they're mostly malicious attacks on the President cloaked as low-brow "humor". I'm old enough to remember Jay Leno (the only tv channel I could pick up back then.) That was someone who could poke at people and events and still be funny, without the underlying nastiness we see in some of today's so-called humor.
he is quite the character... suppose the courts will decide whether that gives SNL the right to make an industry out of humiliating him.
You actually think Trump lemmings watch SNL now? Who is "public" that is going to not support such as SNL by not watching them? Like saying if anyone besides Trumpkins gave up watching Hannity he would lose viewers and go out of business
You ought to just give up TV, then you could listen to the radio 24/7 and never hear a word of conflicting opinion
not true... it's never been this bad, so who do we blame... the internet... the media... social media... Trump's personality... SNL... oh wait we'll just blame the Russians
It's humor, and as "mdrobster" noted above, "parodies of leaders through comedy has been going on since the dawn of civilization," Trump ain't any different, and for him to now sue attempting to say is is slander would be laughed out of any Court
I'm reading your post, "I wish CNN and MSNBC were treated the same way. They are forced on us by our cable TV packages. If we could buy TV a-la-carte, the market would decide that these 2 channels would go out of business."
just think about it for a moment.... SNL creates material that humiliates "a human" they then broadcast this to millions of people, who sit there, point and laugh at this "individual" how can you say this is not wrong, I don't really care who it is.
