No it is not a national vote of the people your desperate attempts to move the goal post notwithstanding, it is a vote by the states in which the votes are weighed by representation and probably 80% of Americans would fail a basic civics test.

In which state did the candidate with the fewest popular votes win and in what election?

They know "how it's done." They just don't agree with it.

I'm not supposed to imply you were smoking dope. I was trying to figure out a reason you would come up with something this absurd.

Well if the left wing mobs can loot and burn down cities for months without being held accountable, what's to stop right wing mobs?

More than 100 straight days of riots in Portland. Many other cities have had mob violence and looting. This is a fact, the question is, how is it you are unaware of this?

Lack or rebuttal noted and the fact remains there is not national election in this country no national popular vote for the President, why to you keep trying to pretend there is one. And BTW obtuse is when you refuse to acknowledge the facts and keep stating false ones, that would be you as I have previously noted.

You said that a candidate with the fewest votes won a popular vote......again in which state did this occur since we only have elections in states.

The police are declaring riots so they can arrest the perps as they gather.

Portland isn't burning down. Tell the Orange Oaf to mind his own business.

No problem as long as there is a cutoff date and all the ones counted have a postmark by said cutoff.

Why do you continue making this claim after I made it clear the national popular vote is arrived at by adding up the state totals?

"No?" What did I just say? I said it "should be a national vote of the people."
Why are you misrepresenting my remarks?
It's a national vote of electors, not of states.

This doesn't even make sense. Try again. From wiki...

This country has arrived at a national popular vote by adding up the results of state elections for 150 years.

Electors are the way the States cast their votes. They represent the popular vote of the State they represent.

I would find it extremely ironic if Trump won the popular vote but lost the Electorial College vote. It will be interesting to see how many conservatives who supported the EC in 2016, suddenly want it gone, and how many liberals who shouted for its demise, suddenly feel it's the greatest institution in the world.

Is there some part of ...

I have never said we'll get rid of the Electoral College.

    ... you don't understand?

You're just making the point that there is no national popular vote. Electors represent their individual State, not the nation. The States elect the President through the electoral college.

And I have said there has never been a national popular vote for the President and that is not going to change.

What don't you still understand? Why do you keep saying we have a national popular vote?

Wouldn't matter to me I don't I don't fallacious assert there IS a national popular vote that is folly that some here like to present. I know how we elect the President and it is not by a vote of the People.
