Graduating from a US College today usually produces a lot of debt, but not necessarily a job. Only 1 in 2 graduates is able to find a decent job. The number of recent college grads who can't find work, or who can find only part-time retail or restaurant jobs that don't require an education, grew by more than 70 percent over the past two years, Thanks to Obama. http://www.tampabay.com/news/busine...graduates-having-trouble-finding-jobs/1165367 The Obama administration has given out more grants and loans than ever to more and more college students with the goal of making the United States first among developed nations in college completion. The balance of federal student loans has grown by more than 60 percent in the last five years. And in 2007, Congress made sure the interest rates on many of those loans were well below commercial rates; currently, a debate over keeping those lower rates from doubling in July is roiling lawmakers. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47400500/ns/business-us_business/#.T672acWOWgQ This is not a good combination(less jobs and more debt) but Obama policies are not good for the economy anyhow.
But hey, his grace Obama is going to see to it that these students get a good rate on their student loans as they starve on the street with no job. That otta be worth something, right???
Obama wants to forgive those federal loans truth be told, at the taxpayers expense. Well at least for minority and immigrant students.
Kinda makes ya wonder if after ya count the college debt, if the average college graduate really makes appreciably more in a lifetime than a high school graduate?... Massive college debt can burden graduates for decades 24 June`12 . When James Perucho opens his Rutgers University tuition bill in the fall, $200 of it will go toward the construction of academic buildings that he may never use but will add to the educational debt he will pay for years to come.
In truth it's republican deregulation (of the banking industry this time) that caused the economy to crash, coupled with decades of republicans giving tax breaks to company that offshored our jobs. If you want to thank someone thank the GOP.
General Electric is one of the worst offenders at offshoring jobs and it is a Democrat company. Maybe if more libs were willing to get jobs in the private sector there would be more Democrat companies.
Offshoring jobs to people working for less money in order to make employers richer is always a good thing, you liberal. Employers >>> everyone else in importance.
What we need to do is have a monopoly on education/knowledge to make it extremely expensive. This can be done via extreme intellectual property laws and employers banding together to only allow people that graduated from certain universities to ever get a job. That way only the kids of the noble rich can succeed, unlike these (*)(*)(*)(*)ing peasants that think they deserve a good life.
Corporate fascism/freedom for the rich, starvation for the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing dirty flea-ridden poor/middle classes is the only system ever proven to work. History proves Randian ideology to be correct and anything else to be wrong.
Of course GE (and now GM) are Democrat companies in the sense that they are controlled by The Democrat Party. But the larger question is why do companies move jobs off shore and the answer is free trade with China. And who gave us that policy? Bill Clinton.
The only focus government has is making huge loans affordable or maybe forgiving them at further tax payer expense. As a result, due to supply and demand college tuition is the only thing in the universe that seems to have not been effected by the recession and keeps climbing. Government and private insurance has done the same with health care. The constant never ending supply of money has driven up costs exponentially with no end in site. Just keep printing that money Fed.
Praise Bill Clinton for making it so that these lazy scumbag American LIBERALS have to compete with extremely cheap labor and hopefully starve to death.
On the bright side, this makes it so that education is getting closer and closer to busting, which will result in only the rich being able to afford education and thus getting closer to the opposite of utilitarianism, where only the 0.1-1% succeed and everyone else fails.
Here is what I don't get. You libs want illegals to come to the US and get free medical care and free free schooling and take jobs in the US but God forbid jobs go over to other countries. Just look at jobs going over seas as a form of universal welfare. Welcome to socialism my friend.
Looking at world history mankind typically enslaves his fellow man through various forms of government. It is but human nature and is why we are headed in that direction once again.
In my ideal system, man would be enslaved by private monopolies because you have to be very clever and hard working to become an owner/beneficiary of a private monopoly, whereas with government monopolies people can just get elected for their "social appeal". Natural selection is a good thing and can best be implemented by monopolies on land (via monopolies on private roads etc.) and monopolies on education/knowledge/credentials (via employers only hiring people from certain private universities which only the rich can afford anyways). That is the best system and my conservative utopia is where 1% of people own 100% of property.
Whatever form of slavery is chosen, what usually happens is that the slave masters usually overshoot their mark in terms of oppression and wind up like Saddam. But hey, if they enjoy riding around in bullett proof cars and living the live of "bubble boy" then more power to them!!
I hope that you get your wish and are enslaved. In fact, I'll light a candle at church for this and speak to a lubavitcher rebbe about seeing how to make this happen for you.
I think the approach is a "kinder, gentler" enslavement. If you notice, every time government takes more of our money it is always to "help" us. The goal I think is to see how far down the populace can be driven without a full scale revolt. Just give the slaves enough resources to survive day to day and still serve their Masters on the plantation.
The soaring college debt is due to souring tuition costs. And ofcourse those soaring tuition costs are due to the government subsidizing private schools less and less. If the government would cut their military budget in half and actually use that money towards institutions that actually help Americans, it'd do wonders.
