Would you care to bring an argument to the table? Yeah sure no problem. "Fantasies". WOW what an educational argument. There is nothing from what I said, that you could or would even argue with. If so, PLEASE........... let me hear it.
Right you are, Treebeard. What our "progressive" friend conveniently overlooks is that Somalia was a socialist **** hole before it collapsed into an anarchic **** hole: The Somali Democratic Republic (Somali: Jamhuuriyadda Dimuqraadiya Soomaaliya, Arabic: الجمهورية الديمقراطية الصومالية al-Jumhūrīyah ad-Dīmuqrāṭīyah aṣ-Ṣūmālīyah, Italian:Repubblica Democratica Somala) was the name that the Marxist–Leninist government of former President of Somalia Major General Mohamed Siad Barre gave to Somalia during its reign, after having seized power in a bloodless 1969 coup d'état.[4][5][6] The putsch came a few days after the assassination of Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke, the nation's second President, by one of his own bodyguards.[6] Barre's administration would rule Somalia for the following 21 years, until the outbreak of the civil war in 1991... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somali_Democratic_Republic Can you believe what happened in the Socialist Utopia of Venezuela yesterday? I bet you're about as surprised as I am, which is not at all...
Sure. Only one is necessary: USA. As we fall into austerity and destruction of the middle class which has been ongoing since 1970, the rest of the world follows with nations failing and in crisis everywhere. As we fall into a right wing extremist government, the rest of the world begins to experience the same. I don't expect you know that after WWII Germany, Britain, the USA, and Italy together attacked the new Russian socialist nation to stop socialism. How could you?!! You didn't (and don't) know about Venezuela and don't dare investigate it. Head in sand.
LOL. Not an example of anything remotely like MAED and in fact the middle class is alive and well. The US ( and others ) expeditionary mission to Russia during the Bolshevik revolution is well documented and you are not especially enlightened about it especially since your spin on that historic drama is massively revisionist. The mission was an attempt to restore order to a nation descending into anarchy and chaos. The bolsheviks won and imposed the worst night mare state in history on the Russian people. HArdly an example of Capitalist MAED
It's not worth it to tell the right again that the economy and the politics are not determined by public choice or ethics, except as a capitalist reaction to such things in order to preserve capitalism. As such it is not worth it to tell the right again that the foundation of every nation is, and has always been, its economy, and everything else including politics, law, and culture arise to serve that economic base. Therefore I simply say "fantasies". So jrr, is there any country that is capitalist and not a "dictatorial, communist, Marxist, tyranny"? You seem to remain very afraid to answer this.
More lies from you as I never said any such thing. And the state is not capitalist or anything else it is a just a political power structure
-and in serious decline since 1970. Heh heh heh. That is a capitalist spin on it handed out by capitalist think tanks and history books. YOU and your parroted story is the revisionism here.
You control your life, and the outcome thereof. You want to blame others for what you don't and do have. You want something go get it. Your ideas and thoughts do become reality, matter of fact, they are your reality. America is the youngest, yet most powerful nation in the world. America prospered very quickly. Perhaps other nations and America itself, should look at how America became so powerful and prosperous. We had a small government, with few government agencies. Labor was not taxed. Currency could only be coined. Now it's printed out of thin air. Principals and morals we taught our young are vastly different and in some cases the exact opposite of today. The more government agencies, and the closer we get to socialism, the worse things have become. It is only those who are willingly blind who cannot see this.
You got your answer. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean you didn't get one. Venezuela failed for the same reasons why every other socialist **** hole throughout history has failed. If you want a long-winded dissertation on why socialism doesn't work, someone already wrote the book: In my estimation, the biggest problem with socialism is that socialists don't understand economics and human nature, and that's why their utopian fantasies never work in practice.
LOL!! WHAT world do YOU live in?!!! LOL!!! I'm sure the middle class wanted stagnant incomes with the top 1% getting it all for the last 40 years. Riiiiiiight. So jrr, is there any country that is capitalist and not a "dictatorial, communist, Marxist, tyranny"? You seem to remain very afraid to answer this.
A leading anti-socialist and capitalist propagandist. I don't ask the fox if the henhouse is secure enough. Oh gosh, "never". LOL! Two words for you: Mondragon Corporation.
As usual you always avoid reasonable argument which you know you will always lose by babbling about " capitalist propaganda blah blah blah "
Mondragon is not an example of socialism which is a political sdystem forced onto people as opposed to en exercise in voluntary cooperative which is what Mondragon is
That "leading anti-socialist and capitalist propagandist" accurately predicted the demise of the USSR the year it was born. Success speaks for itself. Guffaw - two words for you: Free Enterprise.
That's 570 pages of analysis that explains why you and your comrades are wrong. All the USSR and every other socialist failure in history did was prove it. It's called a correction.
Oh really. An "explanation" eh? You said it "predicted the demise of the USSR the year it was born." So that would be prior to any practical data. The only such prediction possible is one based on a knowledge of the history and intention of the capitalist assault on it. Try again. I'm not going to read 570 pages of capitalist propaganda.
Question- Socialism/Communism sounds okay on paper, but why does it usually fail around the world, are people too stupid to make it work properly, or what?
Capitalism "failed" repeatedly for about 100 years, too. It was in its early, "experimental" stage in which methods of work and strategies were being learned and ways of maintaining it were being worked out. Socialism is in that same stage today. It is being worked out. So to really stay informed on not only how it is being implemented, but what it is, requires examination of current efforts and also finding what the lessons are being learned. An accurate reflection on the history of failures is part of the ongoing study into how to get it done successfully. I can provide links to these subjects, or I can offer my own comments based on my own investigation into it if you like. But right now I need to leave to take care of errands for a couple of hours. So I will reply to any responses but it will be a while.
