Fine here are some numbers for you: Now, for those violent crime rates we can directly compare; Assault: Australia 834.5 .U.S 404.5 (386.3 in 2011) Sexual Assault Australia 86.6 ..U.S. 27.7 (26.8 in 2011) Robbery .Australia 71.1 ..US 119.3 (113.7 in 2011) Kidnapping ..Australia 2.9 US So rare records are not kept. http://extranosalley.com/violent-crime-rates-u-s-vs-australia/ And the bottom line? Even making the dubious assumption the Australians themselves are mistaken and the Australian Institute of Criminology numbers are correct Oz has profited very little from its gun control laws.
A pro gun blog? Really LOL It's Friday evening and I'm not even going to bother with more statistics, you can go back and read what I've already posted in this thread... or not.
And there is the lie right there Australia does not keep statistics on rape - we keep stats on a broader range of sexually related crimes called "sexual assault" America keeps different statistics focussing only on the narrow definition of rape and in fact if you check out the source that that astroturf site used you will see that only "forcible rape" is included in the statistics
All your "facts" are cherry picked so that the lowest dip in a graph is compared to the highest regardless of trending either side of the statistic Which is why you use 7 year old data and not overall trending Also interesting that the link only contained data from 2014 not from 2009
Wrong again, you are batting 1.000 The graph I plotted was the AUS crime report data from 1995 (the year before the ban went into full effect) through 2009, the trend is quit clear. I've posted it before, you have seen it before, you have been to the AUS site and seen the data - you've posted data from the AUS site right here in this forum so don't act stupid. The AUS Bureau of Statistics reworked their web site recently, so it will look different to you. But having billed yourself as a "master researcher" I'm sure you will figure it out and find the multiyear database.
I suspect only the 8 children would have died if she had a gun. It was a family thing. Point is...even with your bright shiny laws a mass murder occurred with a knife.....and no amount of regulations on inanimate objects will stop that, when you all get your house in order and stop all your mass killings, we'll consider something here, I mean since you are so emotionally charged about saving lives and all.
The article gave links, one to the Australian Institute of Criminology, but you let your prejudices get in the way. http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm http://www.aic.gov.au/publications/current%20series/facts/1-20/2011.html Any other questions?
The term forcible rape is just a more specific term used to describe the potentially violent manner in which the crime may have occurred, or as a precursor to an aggravated rape charge which carries a higher statutory sentence. It is also used to distinguish rape with violence from underage sex without violence. So what really is the difference?
UMMM Mass killings are not defined by the type of violence it is, you should verse yourself, eh? Now on to the rest of what I said. Point is...even with your bright shiny laws a mass murder occurred with a knife.....and no amount of regulations on inanimate objects will stop that, when you all get your house in order and stop all your mass killings, we'll consider something here, I mean since you are so emotionally charged about saving lives and all. Were you gonna comment on this part?
I believe it is you who should verse yourself. Crimes are very narrowly defined and included accordingly in statistics. The term when domestic violence turns into family massacre is Familicide, and the US have MANY more of these type of killings than Australia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Familicide It's quite amusing how Americans try to paint Australia as a crime capital, the 2nd most liveable country in the world. With two of our cities in the top 20 (US none), and 5 in the top 30.
those links are to statistics, no comparisons between the US and Australia on those sites. once you start comparing you're going to be in shock, your pro gun blog would be cherry picking data and ignoring valuable stats to twist results you're going to have to make more of an effort than hint at it, if you are indeed correct there should be at least ONE reliable source you can post a link comparing Australia and the US (like I did a few posts back in this thread)
The U.S. Population is ridiculously armed to a point that the Soviet's considered an invasion of North America impossible even if by some miracle the Soviet's were capable of getting past the U.S. Military. Which they were not. AA
OH OK I'll let you in on the secret...mass killings are defined by the numbers killed not the type of violence. Nope not trying to paint Australia as anything other than to point out that you still have mass killings and your gun control laws did nothing to stop them. Now lets move on to the rest you won't discuss Point is...even with your bright shiny laws a mass murder occurred with a knife.....and no amount of regulations on inanimate objects will stop that, when you all get your house in order and stop all your mass killings, we'll consider something here, I mean since you are so emotionally charged about saving lives and all. Were you gonna comment on this part?
I don't know why foreigners feel the need to involve themselves in our rights anyways. It's pretty simple concept, taking away the tool is not solving the problem. It's not EVEN putting a Bandaid on it. If a person is going to commit MURDER and especially mass murder, then they aren't worried about breaking a few gun control laws. It's just crazy to suggest such things.
Perhaps those Foreign Fur Bearing Varmints are jealous of Our Constitutional Rights, and would like Us to be moar like them, disarmed and helpless and at the mercy of gangs of strong arm thugs and rapists. Just as they do in many Third World Nations with strict gun control, a gang of thugs invades a home and rapes everyone.
Your low crime rates have a lot more to do with geography and population density more than anything else.
Crime rates have nothing to do with population, both Honduras and Belize have among the highest crime rates in the world, Honduras has just over 8 million people and Belize just over 300 000
I see we've come full circle to making (*)(*)(*)(*) up again, and now for the fun part Please substantiate your claims by listing Australia's numerous mass killings and no ONE won't do. http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/12/mass-shootings-mother-jones-full-data Orlando nightclub massacre Excel Industries mass shooting Kalamazoo shooting spree San Bernardino mass shooting Planned Parenthood clinic Colorado Springs shooting rampage Umpqua Community College shooting Chattanooga military recruitment center Charleston Church Shooting Trestle Trail bridge shooting Marysville-Pilchuck High School shooting Isla Vista mass murder Fort Hood shooting 2 Alturas tribal shooting Washington Navy Yard shooting Hialeah apartment shooting Santa Monica rampage Pinewood Village Apartment shooting Mohawk Valley shootings Newtown school shooting Accent Signage Systems shooting Sikh temple shooting Aurora theater shooting Seattle cafe shooting Oikos University killings Su Jung Health Sauna shooting Seal Beach shooting IHOP shooting Tucson shooting Hartford Beer Distributor shooting Coffee shop police killings Fort Hood massacre Binghamton shootings Carthage nursing home shooting Atlantis Plastics shooting Northern Illinois University shooting Kirkwood City Council shooting Westroads Mall shooting Crandon shooting Virginia Tech massacre Trolley Square shooting Amish school shooting Capitol Hill massacre Goleta postal shootings Red Lake massacre Living Church of God shooting Damageplan show shooting Lockheed Martin shooting Navistar shooting Wakefield massacre Hotel shooting Xerox killings Wedgwood Baptist Church shooting Atlanta day trading spree killings Columbine High School massacre Thurston High School shooting Westside Middle School killings Connecticut Lottery shooting Caltrans maintenance yard shooting R.E. There is no crime expert in America that denies that there is a direct correlation between crime and poverty. That why most crime is committed in ghettos much like Honduras and Belize.
I didn't say population. I said population density. There are of course correlations between population and density, particularly when you have high density and conflicting cultures. There are of course a lot of other factors there, and Honduras is ground zero as one of the worlds leading narcotics makers.
you forget Australia do actually have cities where density is high lol btw I love how you put Australia on trial after 50 people just died in Orlando, nice diversion this way you don't have to deal with your problems
