You were taught wrong. The Catholic church teaches about forgiveness for sins by confession. That forgiveness of sins is easily obtainable, and basically proves you wrong. I'm sad that you were not taught the Catholic Faith correctly.

 

Having lived in the Bible Belt for most of my life, unless you were in a military town the above is total bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Most southern towns have laws against topless bars. it takes a certain sort of puerile ignorance to look on such a stewardship with conceit or to consider all who take it on as so arrogant. i've certainly met such christians, we all have. they are those self-righteous buffoons who, much like modern progressives, seem to believe they have some special insight into the mind of god and must be followed by lesser beings. more often, though, i meet christians who look upon their role as a duty, an obligation to prove the benefits of a life of faith and charity.

Your thoughts on God are of your own, you have no authority over anybody as to how they raise their children, especially with an upbringing of God (I mean nothing personal at all). Who teaches love thy neighbor as thyself. For with this is all the laws and prophets. And holds no aggression, lies, theft, adultery, or violence if this law is upheld, either to a fellow Christian or those of no faith or any faith. For nobody likes to be stolen from, cheating of husband or wife, lied to, or violence inflicted upon them, thus don't do it to anybody else. This is really rather simple.

Christianity has done more good for humanity than anything. Having said that, if I was to tell I am superman, does that mean I am? For anyone that does harm or evil to anybody under the notion that they are Christian, obviously does not mean that they are. Rather far from it.
