Interesting, he was not only forthright on his business losses, but wrote a book on how he overcame those loses..... and, he’s still a billionaire. While I am not enamored with him, I find him more interesting than the hordes of politicians who have never done anything other than live off the taxpayers most of their life or those coming to Washington with little in their pockets that amass fortunes mysteriously while receiving only 6 figure salaries.

By the way, in the end the casino venture was profitable, very profitable to the tune of $58 million per year, the so called $200 million loss was not a real loss, it was part of construction costs and was recovered when he sold his percentage in Holiday Inn for a little over $300 millions dollars, allowing him to pay off a $50 million dollar construction loan to Bear Sterns and to pay off the $170 million dollar mortgage on the casino, as such when it was all said and done he walked away with almost $400 million of profits in 3 years, in 1988 dollars.

When was the last time you made that kind of money?

    Don’t share facts...they aren’t relevant to the Left’s (or Troll’s) narratives.

Understood, but one thing a progressive leftist hates is someone who knows how to make money and they hate it even more when that person makes a lot of money.

I believe a large part of that is because they cannot figure how to do the same, instead they end up pigeonholed into a crappy job, which we all have had at one time, but unlike most they become stuck there, hating their job and everyone else who is doing better than them.

And of course everyone else who is doing better than them, must be cheating or ripping other people off.

And when they see something like this they just go ballistic, if you will pardon the pun.

It deflected nothing. The GOP, like its supporters is driven by the acquisition of wealth. The lanet becoming less in habitable because of AGW, lack of healthcare or too easy access to firearms, is of little consequence.

And what's wrong with that, wealth creates investors, investors create jobs, the end result being the economy improves which benefits everyone, regardless of their wealth.

Try it sometime, the ability to hire and pay people, who want to work a fair wage can be quite rewarding and profitable, in the end everyone gains wealth which no matter how you slice it is very good all around.

As an electrical contractor I helped a number of skilled hard working men become wealthy, because they understood the more money I made, the more money they would make.

There is a man who lives in the South i believe who ended up buying out his boss and the business. Well, he changed how things work. And pays excellent bonus to workers annually. They profit by making a profit for him. He took a smaller surviving business and made it very strong. I am not on his forum now. He certainly had wisdom. Don't see that kind of wisdom from Democrats.

Say, has any poster seen an actual success story about democrats ever posted?

I don't believe that was a threat, it was a reasoned response to your threat.

In the 90's the electrical contracting industry in Florida was changing a lot and I had the opportunity to sell the business and walk away with a decent buyout, the problem was I had 18 guys working for me, loyal men who to me where like family.

I offered to sell them the business at a comparable price and was willing to continue to qualify the business under my license until they obtained their licensing.

These guys where skilled and hard working, four of them agreed to form a Sub Chapter S corporation and buy me out, I co-signed their loan and after 3 years the loan and I was paid in full.

Two of the four are now millionaires and the other two are real close being there, the company now employees 24 people and is doing very well.

Totally false, his workers are paid a wage comparable to others in the same industry and those involved in the construction of the casinos where not employed by him.

Truth is construction was in a slump at the time many skilled workers where unemployed and his money put them and the companies they worked for back into the black.

You really ought to cease drinking the SJW Kool-Aid.

This man owned commercial property I believe. And he had probably 25 employees. He was hired by the former owner and took the company a lot higher. You paved your way to a good retirement. Great job.

Actually it went further than that, since I a kid I wanted to be a phoneman, I thought it would be a cool thing to do, prior to becoming a licensed electrical contractor I went to work for Southern Bell, I was stuck in a Central Office, the pay stunk $68 per week and after a few months I quit.

After I retired I discovered BellSouth was hiring outside plant technicians, I applied for the job and was hired, I wasn't making a lot money, it was something like $900 a week going in, but I didn't need the money so it didn't matter, however I found the work to very interesting, learned a lot about the network through training they paid me to attend and I enjoyed doing the job, unlike many of the Union lackeys I worked with who hated their jobs and the company they worked for.

Twenty three years later I walked into my managers office handed over my ID and keys and retired again, I told the boss I needed to get out before I burned out, it was AT&T at the time, which by they way was also a excellent company to work for.

We parted on good terms and I had a fully vested pension and almost a million in my 401K, much of which was because BST/AT&T matched my contribution at 100%.

Because of that and my business experience is why I get so riled by people who hate large companies because they supposedly screw their employees at every turn, which in most cases is totally untrue.

BST was and AT&T is a huge corporation and they take excellent care of their employee's, when I separated from the company I was pulling down about $72K annually, had 4 weeks of paid vacation and a week of paid personal time off, which I could take in half day increments and I was paying only $72 per paycheck for excellent medical insurance for my family.

More falsehoods, Trump has never had a personal bankruptcy, he has taken over a number of failed companies and placed them into bankruptcy allowing him to put them back on track and once again profitable and employing lots of people in the process.

For that you should be applauding the guy, not condemning him.

But I have the feeling you really don't understand business or how to turn a failing mismanaged company around, something Trump is excellent at.

It's so cute, when people defend Donald as a man of the worker even after he openly held 800K workers for ransom for a wall that his own team said would do nothing because he wanted to give red meat to his base.

Yep definitely a man who never did his workers dirty despite so many coming forward, and him being basically the only person ever to not get majority support from his home state/city in a primary, surely no reason there.

Again totally false Trump has never employed 800K workers.

What does that have to do with anything other then to demonstrate you hate Trump and the Constitution.
