I am having spell check problems, if I try to correct a word, suddenly I get a strange combination of stuff I previously typedtseemingly random jumbles. If I typed this, I get thfypedhs.. Why ?
I'm not having this problem. Which browser are you using? Is it still happening? Only on this website?
I am using my Android phone to post, and I disabled Auto correct and that is when it all started, I correct one letter, Stop, if I type Stap, and try to correct it to Stop, I will get a jumble of other stuff I typed before, example: Tyestaphexamoke, rather than Stop. It only happens on this forum. Why ?
Found these different ideas on message boards. One of them might be relevant to your issue of jumbled text: "Probably sent with some type of emoticons where if you do not have the app for them it shows the symbols used for them" ..... "The android isn't really set up for ios emoticons , so a lot if the apps for the droid don't jive with apple." ...... wyllic "Oh oh oh I can fix this one! What text messaging app are you using? Stock? Handscent? w/e You need to go into it's settings and tell it to split long sms messages into multiple parts, otherwise it tries to send it as one long sms message which isn't supported and it comes out as garbage." .... "My wife had similar issues with her OG Droid, so she upgraded to a HTC Incredible 2 and eventually had the same type of text issues so she waited until upgrade again and bought a Bionic (which I now have and have had 0 issues). She eventually had the same type of text issues with it also. She didn't like the Bionic so I took it and bought her an Incredible 4G. She has now learned to clean out old text messages to prevent these issues. At one point she had over 4800 texts stored on her OG Droid and Verizon said "that's too many texts..you have to delete some." I didn't believe them at the time, but after having the issue on 3 different phones, I guess they were right. I even tried increasing the 200 text per contact limit and that didn't help her. I would delete all texts from her phone and she would not have the issue for a few months, then once she had a couple thousand saved texts, she would have similar problems to yours again. For her, the only thing that helps is deleting hundreds and hundreds of old texts every few days. Seems like there might be a "magic" limit to these android phones where a certain number of saved texts start to cause problems." ........... The encryption app encrypts your outgoing messages using a password. Only recipients with the password can read the message. The message appears as scrambled, nonsensical text to anyone without the password. http://smallbusiness.chron.com/message-encryption-android-32918.html
I turned off spell check and the phone is in revenge mode. It is as if a virus has made spell check gone mad.
Much like my current problem, ***( gibberiratyerhyer )*** gibberish, rather than spell check. I get nonsense, instead of help. The bolded stuff is what happened, when I tried to correct a typo, gibbrrish and that was the end result.
Could this be a possible cause/solution? I found it at a forum. It refers to something called autocorrect on an Android phone: "Whenever you have an auto correct issue it's because the USER at one point, SAVED it to be like that. Long press the auto correct word in the middle of the screen, and delete it out of your dictionary. Problem solved." (for that word) Hey DoctorWho, why not register at an Android forum, and put your question to the members. Since it's strictly an Android forum, they would probably be more help than us. Here's a link to one: https://forums.androidcentral.com/
Well, I did find a solution, sort of, I dropped my phone and "brokered" the screen while helping a so called freind, and he offers to sell me an outdated clunker phone at a price that almost made me choke snort soda out of my nose. So I bought a brand new model of a phone I liked, an LG stylus smart phone, with insurance, problem solved, no more issues, really strange in any case. Your explanation did seem to make the most sense, I simply have no notion how I saved all that giberish. Though it seemed to make it up on the spot from words I had just typed. Who knows ??? Grrrrr
Congrats. Technology is miraculous until it stops working. Then we're like cavemen. We wack it, yell at it and then wack it some more. Eventually we get a new one. And the miracle harp strums anew. Be careful with it.
