you might be asking yourself “why is this a political issue”? The reason is that conservatives seem to think this dude is just another victim of wokeness. Just read the comments section of the article. It’s insane. Conservatives seem to think that what this guy said was acceptable. It’s one thing to say these things privately. Nobody’s gives a **** about that. But this guy made this misogynist comments in air. He must have been drunk or something.

 

They’re not drunk. Another reporter interviewing maga fanatics on tv fulminating about liberals at their latest rally agreed that they should “just kill them all”.
After he was forced to retract his comments the maga horde complained that the leftist media had blown it all out of proportion.
These people are bred and wired that way, and they support trump because he embodies their basest instincts.

 

Sports radio, at least with regard to those stations in my immediate area [NYC] is becoming less and less about sports and more and more about the personalities on the programs. When I tune in, I want to hear about our local teams and sports in general. I simply do not give a hoot about which of the presenters went where for pizza last night.

While I'm at it, our two local stations which provide live coverage of our baseball teams [Yankees and Mets] seem to have forgotten that when someone tunes in, the first thing they want to know is . . . the score. I've had to listen through most of an inning to get the score more than once. The late Walter 'Red' Barber knew what covering a baseball game was all about. These newcomers, with their fake names, could learn something from his old broadcasts.

You saw the same thing with the rallies from the prior president, violence against the left was a common them and they went as far as to say the only good democrat is a dead one.

This is a common them with the maga larpers and incels for them to try and comprehend why society is leaving them behind and why women look down on them.

 

He is a self styled shock jock. In other words an arse. I don't see this as a a political thing. Rather, by definition, a shock jock is just a representative of low brow culture.

 

It is not a wokeness issue, it is a professionalism issue. Those remarks have no place on the air or on the field when talking to female reporters who are just trying to do their job professionally. I guess he thought between his legs and not his ears.

Just like men, some female sports reporters are very good. One I like is Andy Adler, who is with KTVT in Dallas. She is quite good and I like her interview style. Not the usual sports questions that come around all the time.

 

I thinkk you will find that with all radio no matter the topic or genre. This is especially true with talk radio ranging from politics to mechanics to gardening.

 

Well, they keep doing their best to alienate the black, women and gay voters, and their silly obsession with the concept of woke is probably alienating the youth vote as well.
At that rate, maga will go the way of the shakers.

First, there was NOTHING misogynistic about his comment. Granted some women do not like being compared to barbie but that is just a feeling and misgony is not defined by feelings.

Being unprofessional is completely subjective and to irrationally overreact to firing someone so easily is ridiculous. You are projecting.

 

I've worked in the corporate world all my life and HR was pretty strict, but good natured bantering was usually allowed. However, if anyone complained about a comment, then the person who made it was asked not to do it again.
