    Almost every time you see an Admiral in ST:TNG, he/she has gone "rogue" or is engaging in some unsavory/illegal behavior. How about that for human weakness (power corrupts)?

    Also, contrary to what others have said, I think "Q" represents, not Satan, but God. The series begins and ends with Q testing humanity (represented by Picard). In the episode "Deja Q", he even becomes a Christ-like figure who is sent out of the Q continuum, sans powers. Then, as a mortal, regains his godhood by sacrificing himself to save the crew of the Enterprise.

    I always thought Q was god. he meets all the 'criteria', but unlike the abrahamic god, has a sense of humour. I'd go to church if he was the boss :)
