Next month I'm going to enter some canned goods in the up
and coming County Fair in Oklahoma County. I've canned
Chicken Soup and a batch of Beets. I might put up some
    Green Beans.

I've won several first places with salsa and cinnamon rolls.
and placed with other entries. There are many categories
and not too hard to win something. Ours isn't that large, maybe
    200 or 300 participants.

Here's something funny. Prunette and a friend made an
incredible batch of jam. They both entered. Prunette
took first and her friend placed third.

    What do you enter?

We don't preserve much so have nothing to enter.

We do have a small vegetable garden most summers, though; my spouse does most of it--green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, zuccini, green onions...broccoli, beets, turnips....peas don't do well here because it heats up too fast for them to do really well.

My uncle has lots of state fair ribbons for his eggs, though he never has been able to explain by what standards they judge eggs or how he selected the ones he entered. I just assume like 3 people always were the only ones who entered eggs so one is guaranteed a ribbon.
