not surprisingly...some people are trying to downplay the severity of what he did because it's not like he head butted someone or broke their leg...but the fact is biting is very dangerous even life threatening, HIV, Herpes, Hep A, B and C, TB, Tetanus are potential dangers ...Hospital ER's take bite wounds very seriously for potential transmission of infections...
u r certainly right, but all that is not the point here imo; HE BIT SOMEONE IN A SPORTS GAME, just think about that sentence, after that u think about that he did it the THIRD time, on top of that he is known for unsportsmanlike behavior (diving etc.) and racism. then theres the fact that he shows not the tiniest bit of remorse. he shud be happy with 4 month, thats actually nothing to him, he just loses the first part of the season, the 1-4 games he is missing in the cup is way worse for him...i wudnt have punished him domestically (liverpool) at all, id wish he was suspended for at least one more world cup i will lose a lot of respect for liverpool if he ever plays for them again, and for every other team he will ever play again for that matter..
within the rules of the game it was deliberate and violent conduct, an immediate red card if an official spots it...Imo considering it was his third offense he got off lucky, in my local league where I served on disciplinary committee a third offense would've resulted in a two year suspension... the whole biting thing is weird, that isn't normal behaviour for an adult the guy has some mental issues...
