    https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/02/trump-impeachment-poll-support-016403

This poll follows a whole host of other polls that demonstrate support for impeachment saw a dramatic and significant increase over the last week. And the percentage of Americans who support impeachment is rapidly approaching a majority, a number that is very dangerous for Republicans looking to 2020. And that is likely to result in even more Republicans announcing that they will not seek re-election.

Polls said Hillary was going to be president, right up until she wasn't.

That's true... but OTOH, if the polls said only 1% of the public supported impeaching Trump, it would still be the right thing to do...

    Hillary in a landslide!

Contrary to the Left's wishful thinking, I see the Dims latest fabricated "scandal" blowing up in their faces just like they got hoist by their own petard with their Russia Collusion Hoax.

If you want to measure how well Trump and the GOP are actually doing, look at their fundraising and right now they're raising record amounts of cash (reportedly twice what the Obama and Dims raised in 2011). I believe the figure is at $300 million this year and rising,

Money talks, the LW MSM's polls walk...

No, the polls said she would win the popular vote by roughly 3.2%. She won by roughly 2.1%.

You are free to use whichever metric confirms your previously held belief. The fact remains that polling data, one designed to reflect how the American people believe or feel, demonstrates that support for impeachment is increasing dramatically and significantly over the last week.

You shouldn't use the polling data to predict the future though. That's the lesson learned from 2016 and enacted in 2018.

And another poll said that if they did go with impeachment, it would get disastrous for the dems. A poll will show this a poll will show that, it will show you want you want it to show.

Which poll showed that going forward with impeachment would be disasterous for the dems?

If anybody is watching this rambling insane lunatic today sitting with the Prez of Finland, you cannot help but jump on the impeachment bandwagon.... or the 25th amendment bandwagon...

Just watch it for yourself... it'll be on YouTube eventually... Have some tape ready to keep your lower jaw connected to your face...

Call it the Blank Strap Ramble...

He's 33% Don Rickles, 33% Rush Limbaugh, 33% Scarface, 100% Stone Cold Liar...

Calling him a Nazi is now demonstrably untrue... even they wouldn't take him...

He will lose in 2020.... He's lost whatever limited grip he had on sanity in 2016....

    EDIT

Here ya go.... watch as much of it as you can stomach.... Then hit me up, I have some pitchforks and torches in my basement

You are free to use whatever metric confirms your own beliefs, especially ones that have a long history of not reflecting what the American people think, or in the case of American leftists, what they believe and feel. As Modcon pointed out in another thread, the polling data is likely to change as the Dims' latest antics and narratives continue to fall apart.

One thing I failed to mention previously, which is consistent with Trump and the GOP's record fundraising. is that they're not going to have to worry about voter complacency, apathy and turnout in 2020, except perhaps in some local elections where the Republican candidate may be weak and/or running a weak campaign. However, even some of those candidates are likely to benefit from the fallout from the Dims' attempts to steal what they couldn't earn in 2016.

But she needed help from the Ukrainians to achieve that. Had they not helped her who knows what her numbers would been.

I would recommend trying to find it again because my guess is that you either misread the title or the title was actually from an opinion article attempting to predict the outcome of an impeachment investigation based on the current polling.

Except Democrats aren't stealing anything because if Trump is impeached and convicted, Pence becomes President.

Unless of course you believe that Mike Pence is a closet Democrat.

Why would you do a thing like this? As we speak, you are knowingly dumping toxic waste on this forum. Shame on you.

Well the recent trend of the data shows that impeachment support is rapidly rising and the support for the generic democrat over the generic republican is around 7 points, which is only about 1.7% lower than the generic advantage which saw Democrats win by a historic margin of victory in 2018.

Now, is it possible that those trends reverse? Sure, but I don't see any sign of it given all of the floundering from the White House in response to the impeachment inquiry.

As for the "antics and narratives falling apart," I have yet to see any sign of that taking place. All of the Republican defensive talking points (Trump didn't say anything bad, Biden did it too, Biden's son did something wrong, the whistleblower laws changed, giuliani acted solely on behalf of trump, etc.) have all fallen apart in rather rapid succession. And the investigation has only gotten thicker with the revelation, yesterday, that Pompeo was on the call and that AG Barr and Trump have made personal overtures to other countries in an effort to discredit the Mueller investigation (ya know, the one that Trump claimed was a complete exoneration).

"46 percent of voters said Congress should begin impeachment proceedings vs. 43 percent who said they should not."

Is a 50-50 risk worth it? It's so close to an election why not just beat him that way? That why there is no risk of blowback

Because he apparently decided to engage in conduct that is both impeachable and easy for most of the American people to follow and understand.

    Notice that I say most...

Poll: 40 percent of Republicans say Trump 'probably' mentioned Biden on Ukraine call

That might be a hair misleading, since the poll started 2 days before the call transcript was released...

Love to see it taken again...

Even today, there will be people (on both sides) who don't realize or believe Trump mention Biden(s) by name on the call... that's how shocking that is..

How many times are Dems gonna use this as an excuse for why numbers aren't better for them? They did it with the Mueller Report too "they didn't read it that's why the polling numbers aren't better"

What ever you all say and try to twist...most poll are wrong, poorly sampled, and questions are bias.
