I like your idea, but I don't believe that direction works.

Let's remember that hate for blacks and gays and adherence to religion are all POPULAR. This web site designer isn't going to lose a lot of business by not serving gays. Plus, it's not going to be a sign on the door to make the rest of us irate. It's going to be this web designer saying she's just too busy for more work and differentially hiring employees - all cases that are hard to ferret out.

Once religion justifies breaking public accommodation law (and, I assume, employment law) how do we stop pretty much all such discrimination?

Let's say my religious belief is one that understands the Mark of Ham and refuses to support such people?

How is that now unconstitutional? Is someone going to argue that my religion is false?? That won't work.

There are sound reasons, implemented from long ago, for separating church and state. And, public accommodation IS the state. It is how our economic system delivers goods and services. It is strongly regulated by government for solid reasons.

And, I'd point out that when it comes to speech, it is the COUPLE who is speaking - not some web designer.

Put it in the jar along with the rest of your complaints about this process which you willfully refuse to understand.

Not only did she not pay a cent it looks like she was given a design job for the very conservative activist law firm.

Bribery seems to be the word of the day for Republicans
