Refusing service should never be illegal, for any reason. On racial, religious, or any other grounds. You are never harming someone by leaving them alone. It is your property.

The direction taken in the 60s was a mistake.

He applied a Christian moral and value on the public at large by refusing service that was held in line with a bigoted and simple minded belief from how ****ing long ago?

all they are doing is opening a flood gate to discrimination. i.e., muslims refusing to work with alcohol present, how about baristas refusing service to the police. this ruling will be as bad as separate but equal.

No, he didn't. He exercised his Constitutionally protected right. He forced nothing on anyone.

Take your loss like a man.

Please. Freedom from religion absolutely applies. I am free to not adhere with your war god. End of story.

Oh, how about when they force a religious baker to bake a cake he is morally opposed to?

What part of "that's what this case was about" did you not understand?

fyi, it has already happened with muslims refusing work with alcohol in the vicinity.

Sorry, I do not agree with becoming a theocracy.

IMO, Christianity needs to be stomped out like the roach infestation it is. Along with Islam. And Judaism.

What part of "they never forced him to be gay nor did they force him to attend their wedding" did you not understand?

No. They didn't. They asked for a cake.

The cake is immaterial. What is important is that religious folks are now empowered to discriminate on purely nonsensical terms.

    This is too overbroad.

    Sad day for America.

Grow up, blues. I disagree with any empowerment of religion. THAT is what this case is about.

ANY furtherance of religion's ability to extend whimsical beliefs above and over the public is something I will be vocal about in any event.

If you feel that badly about it only buy cakes from gay bakers. Or atheists.

Have you met a baker who insists you turn straight? Nope! That's your call but you don't get to force your beliefs on somebody just because he bakes for a living. This was a good bipartisan decision but I guess you can't handle that.

I refuse to accept any ruling that enables discrimination based on religious fiat, because it is absolutely impossible to determine true intent in those sorts of cases.

Agreed. However, they still will complain about it.

The ruling still leaves some open questions since it only says Colorado was biased against the baker, not that others can refuse to sell based on religious beliefs.

I guess now everyone needs to advertise their intent.

"We are a gay friendly bakery"

    or

"We are judgemental ****s and won't serve you"

Not true, but thanks to the 14th Amendment, you are free to refuse Christians your services. :)

No one forced the gay couple to go to that bakery. I remember when this story broke and I did a search of how many bakeries were in that area and I believe it came out to 37. So gays, or any other group with an agenda, appeared to have targeted this particular bakery in order to promote their cause.

Religion should be kept in secret, behind closed doors, at night. Like in Rome, circa 100 A.D.
