Obama lied again. He is taxing the middle class http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap...v0Whbw?docId=48328c71af0241c39aef95fda77612f7
Yeah, I just realized this. With so many people no longer getting employer-based coverage, and Cobra being expensive and short-lived, so many people will be in-line for punishment via Obamacare. That sucks.
Just wait until Obama and the Democrats MANDATE everyone buy a VOLT so they can start production again!
It sure says a LOT when the Right calls getting FANTASTIC insurance for a very low subsidized price being "punished".
So let me see if I got the gist of this Obamacare mandate. People who are too poor to buy health insurance in the first place, must now pay a fine to the IRS, which the penalty for non-payment is a potential jail sentence, and after the fine, they are even less likely to be able to pay for health insurance than before. Is that how it works? Please correct me if I'm wrong. And people are actually defending this as a reasonable and just law?
Pay and penalty and go uninsured? That was included with the idea being that you would buy insurance instead of paying the penalty. An incentive, if you will. But if you want to pay the penalty and remain uninsured, go ahead! Failing to buy insurance and then taxing the healthcare system is being a MOOCHER. Even Romney noted this in e-mails back in 2006 when he wrote: "Some of my libertarian friends balk at an individual mandate. But is it libertarian to insist that government pick up the tab for those without insurance or means to pay? An uninsured libertarian might counter that he could refuse the free care, but under law, that is impossible — and inhumane." He also said the individual mandate was needed to bring down costs (theoretically by speading them out to everyone).
Don't want to pay the health insurance tax? Get insurance. Don't want to pay the single tax rate? Get married. Sounds like personal responsibility to me.
The poor do not get waivers for anything. The right of redress has a price tag which the poor and middle classes cannot afford. Large companies get waivers, small companies cannot afford the paperwork to get any privileges.
My, aren't we the little elitist? If you were ever poor, you would realize how .... ummm .... detached from reality your statement is. Perhaps you may want to consider spending a little bit more on the drugs you are taking.
Dont have any money for food? Get a job. Dont belong in the country? Get the (*)(*)(*)(*) out. See how that works?
You got it all wrong. You should probably go back to school where, coincidentally, your parents' insurance will cover you.
My parents are dead. They were murdered by drug crazed mimes at a Hempfest. Thanks for bringing back that painful memory, you heartless bastard!
So you are poor but you are going to go to college... Makes sense.. How do you expect people to pay back those loans AND afford insurance once they are out of school? Its not like the job market is doing great atm.
Don't want to be panelized for exercising Individual Unalienable Liberty? Bend over and take it from the Democrats!
Sounds like crony capitalism to me. Obama is just as bad when it comes to big business payoffs as bush. Maybe worse. At least bush didn't force people to buy insurance from private corporations for just being alive and a citizen.
Elitist? Since when is personal responsibility "elitist?" Don't know what you call "poor." For those who cannot afford it insurance is subsidized. For those who can, but choose not to, it is taxed. The poor do not choose to be poor. Those who can afford to pay for health insurance and choose not to are choosing to push the risk and costs onto the rest of us. Don't want to pay the tax? Get insurance. Personal responsibility. I thought that was a "conservative" thing.
Yeah. If you can't get a job to buy food the government will help. Don't belong here? The government will help you leave. Can't afford to buy health insurance? The government will help pay for it. Can afford to buy it but choose not to? The government will tax you for it. The government is us. All of us. Yeah. I see how that works.
Your liberty ends at my wallet. You are part of the health care system whether you choose to be or not. Be responsible.
