    It buys you plenty actually. One of the major things it buys you is the assurance that if you or your spouse fall victim to a debilitating accident or a catastrophic illness you're unlikely to end up losing your home and see your children on welfare.

    I would have preferred to self-insure against such with 5% of the 50% I am forced to pay at gunpoint. What does government provide for the other 45%?
